Actually, it was still dark. I like this photo because I'm really proud of the almost 40lbs that I have lost in the last year. I always assumed that you just put on weight as you got older and that was that. But I'm so grateful to have learned that it doesn't have to be that way. I've finally learned how to eat healthy without being hungry, without weird diets, or ordered food, Just normal stuff I like. I am proud of myself.

week 42

During my vacation, I loved to go out on the balcony in the mornings to eat breakfast, read a book (on my Kindle) and just relax and enjoy the birds chirping.

Usually, at home, I eat in front of the computer, but I have resolved to stop doing that. I want to keep using that time in the mornings for quiet thoughts, so that my day can start out more centered and positive.

3-day bikepacking winter microadventure Amsterdam - Otterlo - Doetinchem - Sint Anthonis. (242km)

___

Dutch (Amsterdam based) outdoor shop Carl Denig organised a very cool outdoor event Januari 12-13-14 packed with workshops and the possibility to test their winter camping gear. Two whole nights to test their tents, (down)mats and sleeping bags! And many interesting outdoor workshops in between. A big campfire to keep us warm and lots'n lots of food and hot drinks to warm our inner soul.

Big thumbs up for the organisation! It was perfect. Adventure was calling and I just had to go :)

And what better way to start the new year than to go on a 3-day bikepacking microadventure to get to this wintercamping event in style...

Sweet Keane looking a lil rough this morning. I keep telling her she doesn't have to get up with me so early. 😴☕️.

Here I am cleaning up after breakfast. As soon as the kids wake up they want to EAT. They do allow me put the coffee on and go pee mostly because they know I cannot function without coffee. As for using the bathroom right after waking up...after giving birth to four children it isn't really something I can leave for later.

After I have done what I need to do I get the food (bread with butter and Nutella) on the table with milk all in five minutes with non-stop remindings from all three little ones over and over of just how hungry they are.

Just in case I forgot. :)

Seriously, it is like I have chirping baby birds with hungry open mouths for children.

Once they are done I clean the Nutella off all their faces, hands, arms, legs, the table, the chairs and sometimes the floor. My son has finally stopped putting everything he eats in his hair for later. ;)

After all of that, I am ready for the dishes.

That's my first hour in the morning...So, what is yours like?

What mobile games are you all playing? I shouldn’t ask this, though...I had to set up some screen time limits for certain games on my phone. They can be very addictive. So I’m not sure I want more ideas...

My mourning routine consists of preparing breakfast and helping Dumbledore make hats for dancing skeletons. What? I turn 28 next month. I’m a serious woman.

25 / 365 morning routine

This is a Gillette Brownie safety razor from the 1920's. The experience you get from shaving with a safety razor is different than when using a plastic multi-blade razor. The former is more of an art and the latter is just plain utilitarian. I know I am waxing petty shaveology here but there is a difference.
