Taken on April 7th at 9:30pm just outside my front door. The full moon and clear skies made the snow covered mountains standout.

The Thunder Supermoon taken above the Planier lighthouse. Planned photo using Photopills app. The height of the lighthouse being 66m, it needed a distance of about 7km at 200mm focal length to give this size perspective to the moon.
The photo was taken at around 10km, heavily cropped, at 5:57 am (near end of the blue hour). Initially I would have liked the moon to set directly behind the lighthouse, but it still lacked a few degrees and day was dawning. It will be for a next time :))) Thank you for reading me :)

I was intending to photograph the sunrise over Melbourne CBD but the setting moon was a little more photogenic

It was such a moving moment on the most famous mountain in Switzerland. What more could one wish for than being there at this time? Gifts like these are welcome, right? Someone who loves nature can hardly remain calm at such a sight. My heart beat faster and my hands shook a bit and I struggled to find the right settings on my camera. At least at the beginning of this memorable full moon night at the foot of the Matterhorn. This night was different, unique in all respects, and I had memories of the nights in Canada when we the first time saw the Northern Lights in the sky. But we were in Switzerland, in our home country and could again experience such an unforgettable night, in which this has become almost the day. The moonlight enchanted the moment on the Matterhorn and all the way we still had to go to our accommodation. A soft, beautiful light, that this night showed us the way into the beauty of the night.
Everything is so splendid and glorious on our earth: The many rainbows a year with the sun in the distance, the colorful flower blossom and the mighty trees, the bright full moon nights, the dew drops and snowflakes. But the most wonderful and beautiful is your smile every day.
Love his paintings so much.
