First picture of the moon with my new Tamron 150-600mm.

Last night was when a Super moon and lunar eclipse combine for 'blood moon'.

Unfortunately we live in a big city with enormous light pollution, also although it wasn't cloudy the air was humid and the moon wasn't very clear.

I almost forgot the full moon tonight! I wanted to take it before dark but didn't. This is the best I could do without a telescope, tripod or special lenses. It looks pretty interesting to me. I used the Landscape setting on my camera.

Crescent Moon (35% illuminated) imaged with an 80mm refractor.

The Sun is just rising over the Apollo 11 landing site in the Sea of Tranquility (centre of the image).

Tonight the moon was bright, low and inviting.

This the best one of a whole raft of shots, taking the moon through a telescope. It's only 30x, but with the optical zoom on the camera, it was enough to fill the frame.

Because the camera is handheld against the telescope's eyepiece, I was never going to get the nice sharp image I saw in the scope, but hey ho. I might try again.

A day before the Blood Moon eclipse. Sadly, India won't experience the rare event this year. Hoping someone of you might post the Blood Moon shot, friends.

here goes the best of all my moon shots.

Digiscoped moon

Over the Columbia River at Blue Hour. HDR to bring out the moon detail.

Blue Moon for July

Taken at 17.10 UK time just as the sun was going down so still some light in the sky. Straight out of the camera with no Photoshop adjustments other than the square crop.

Tripod mounted with my Sigma 50-500mm f4-6.3 APO HSM EX + 1.4x extender.

Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star.

first time shot of the moon no tripod

Using my new 100-400mm lens, I captured this super sharp moon shot!

Photographed whilst on holiday this Summer in Sparwood, beautiful BC!

For those that missed last night's super moon. A super moon occurs when the moon is full while closest in its' orbit to the earth, causing it to be roughly 12% larger and brighter than an average full moon. Around midnight in Portland last night, it was quite clear, and this moon was quite bright.

The Moon between last quarter and full. Taken with a 2140mm effective focal length. 1/60th sec @ ISO 125. Quick shot taken after imaging Jupiter. (Still have to process those!)

Moon #11 taken for the 52 in 2015 Challenge Group.
