The Tiergarten area, to which a part of Berlin's government district belongs, is a night gathering place for Berlin's crows; mostly the huge public park of Tiergarten, but also the adjacent public spaces (like the large meadow in front of the Reichstag building). Every night at sundown, large flocks of crows appear, and all of a sudden, they are everywhere. Since I had just taken a few images with the phone when the crows arrived, I didn't bother to switch back to the camera and instead started snapping away with the phone.
But I didn't notice I had accidentally activated "Portrait Mode" in haste until I had transferred the images to my computer. Most of the pictures from that particular "crow moment" were crap, of course, because nothing was really sharp (also because the crows moved so fast, sitting in one spot of the provisional fence for just a moment, before they flew to the next spot). But this one photo actually works because at least a few crows in the foreground are (fairly) sharp. I also like the "accidental" tilt-shift/toy scene look Portrait Mode gave me. I will keep this particular effect in mind because I think it's something I might be able to refine. From accident to serendipitous outcome ;)
The phone JPG had been nice already, but didn't quite transport that particular sunset mood, so I tweaked it with various filters in Color and Analog Efex.
Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone!
