NPTEL EAST Zone Felicitation cum Awareness Workshop
Representatives of the Local Chapters from the eastern states assembled to interact and provide feedback at this event. The top-performing colleges were also felicitated. It was a day filled with inspiration, collaboration, and a celebration of educational excellence.
Being a SPOC of MOOCS of my institute where I work, I also participated in the grand event

Starring Sebastian Thrun and all those xMOOCS: Udacity, Coursera, EDx (because they are the ones that get all the attention) but produced, directed and thought about by George Siemens, Alec Couros, Dave Cormier, Stephen Downes.
Today's #ds106 Daily Create was the idea of my friend Ben, who loves the Daily Create. He wanted us to create a board game about ds106.
MOOCOPOLY is the game of teaching massively, openly online and includes the range of players from ds106, CCK08 to the Stanford trio, MITx, and more. Take your chance and many you will have community or not.

Captured in soft morning light with iPhone and Olloclip Macro Lens, edited on the iPad in Hipstamatic's Oggl. Used the Florence lens and Rock BW11 film, but contrast was a little flat for this image, so adjusted the contrast.
Note: I have added this to the #edcmooc tag cloud not necessarily as a contender for the contest (though I would love a gelaskin for my phone) but rather as a reaction to seeing someone else upload this image to Flickr as their own. It was a good opportunity to talk about creative commons, share-alike and attribution, further proof that the network teaches all in many ways.
www.jisc.ac.uk/ webinar on MOOCs. While I have listened to MOOC talks up to my eyeballs, these folks had some new things to say and it was really interesting to hear the analogies and discussion unfold from so many perspectives.

My poster/meme is targeted at exposing the mixed bag of what people mean by the term Massive Open Online Course, or MOOC. As with many trending topics, many people and institutions have jumped on the MOOC bandwagon, but have little shared understanding of what they actually are, or what they are useful for. By adding prompts around the potential meaning of each letter, I wanted to represent visually the fuzziness of the concept, and the need to develop a better taxonomy of what it means to learn online.
Although I have represented this concept visually myself, I would not have come up with the idea without attending Educon in Philadelphia in January 2013. I borrowed the tagline from Jon Becker, Assistant Professor at VCU.

Desta vez o Grupo Fotocultura visitou a Mooca, tradicional bairro de São Paulo, foi um saída ótima, com 180 participantes, e muitas fotos! Quero agradecer a todos que foram! Saímos do metrô Bresser-Mooca e caminhamos pela Rua Visconde de Parnaíba, passamos por uma enorme igreja evangélica, com várias bancas de artesanato voltado para esse público, passamos em frente ao Memorial do Imigrante, e chegamos até estação do Trem do Imigrante, uma pequena estação onde pudemos ver uma Maria Fumaça em pleno funcionamento, uma antiga ponte de ferro, trilhos, e outras coisinhas, que devem ter rendido ótimas fotos! Depois rumamos para a Mooca mesmo, passando pela Rua do Trilhos, Rua da Mooca, Rua Javarí, terminando na Praça Ciro Pontes, onde nos reunimos, sorteamos brindes oferecidos pelo fotocolagem.blogspot.com e uma camiseta Fotocultura, e mandamos o pessoal para o almoço!
As Saídas FOTOCULTURA tem por objetivo trazer todos os interessados em fotografia para a prática, para as ruas, para a cidade, unindo fotografia e cultura. É um evento TOTALMENTE livre e gratuito, onde todo tipo de fotógrafo é bem vindo. A cada saída temos um tema diferente, e muitas vezes temos patrocinadores que oferecem prêmios. Como funciona essa saída, posso ir na próxima? Basta comparecer e fotografar. Podem ser usadas câmeras de qualquer tipo e todos podem participar.
