When we were driving home from Forster (on the north coast of NSW), we called in to a fish shop near Hexham to buy some fish. As I was getting back into the car I spotted two Lace Monitors walking towards the undergrowth. It was not the huge one that I saw a while back, so I am guessing that this was a mother and baby. The mother would have been around 5 foot in length.

HMS Belfast is the ninth of ten Town-class cruisers; begun at the end of 1936, Belfast was launched March 1938 (on St Patrick's Day. After striking a mine in November 1939, Belfast spent two years undergoing repairs and improvements, finally returning to service in November 1942. Throughout 1943, Belfast was involved in escorting Arctic convoys to the USSR; in December 1943 Belfast was involved in the Battle of North Cape, during which it assisted with the sinking of the German warship Scharnhorst. In June 1944, Belfast took part in Operation Overlord and the Normandy landings; the following year Belfast was redeployed to the British Pacific Fleet, remaining in the Far East until 1947 when it returned to Portsmouth and underwent a refit. At the end of 1948 Belfast was based at Hong Kong and became the flagship of the 5th Cruiser Squadron, and returned to combat during the Korean War between 1950-52. Upgraded and modernised between 1956-59, Belfast moved into reserve in 1963, then marked for disposal in 1971, only saved with the formation of a private HMS Belfast Trust that took possession in July of that year. Initially an independent museum, Belfast became a branch of the Imperial War Museum in 1978.

bought a Dell 24" UltraSharp 2408WFP. It's not a great monitor, but better than the 19" viewsonic I had lol. For $400, it's a decent buy for what you get.
The odd thing is now that I upgraded the monitor, I paid a bit more attention to the display after I calibrated it with SpyderExpress 2. I'm still trying to under stand this a bit more...but what is happening was a surprise to me. I assume after calibrating the monitor to sRGB, all my applications would display the pictures the same, assuming the picture color space is sRGB. But, no! There is a very noticeable difference between NX2 and Picasa. Firefox looks the same as NX2, and IE looks the same with Picasa.
I understand that NX2 and Firefox (3.5.x) defaults to "tagged" color space support, but I'm not comparing AdobeRGB or ProPhotoRGB...these jpgs are saved as Nikon sRGB (the default for the Nikon camera is you choose sRGB and NX2), so, why would one application (Picasa) display the colors different than another applications (firefox) when it's suppose to have sRGB color space? This being on the same monitor.
