So, In my last photo I mentioned I didn't really like the people in Monaco. Actually, I did some little research and monaco seems to be on a list raking the worlds least friendly travel destinations. So, I guess more people have this feeling. The article mentiones: "They could not care less about 'service'," wrote one. "It is non-existent. They are arrogant and feel they are doing you a favour." I agree.

The principality of Monaco is the world's second smallest sovereign state by area and the most crowded.

Most of the total area increase over the last 50 years is through land reclamation.

The views are nice over the Monte Carlo district. The home of the Monaco Grand Prix.

I spent €15 on train and bus tickets for the day. For a place so expensive, it is one of the cheapest day trips in Europe (from Nice).

Taken in 1975.

The Prince's Palace in Monaco, where Grace Kelly lived when she was princess, looks down on Monaco's harbor.

In 1419, the Grimaldis purchased Monaco from the crown of Aragon and became the official and undisputed rulers of "the Rock of Monaco", and in 1612 Honore II began to style himself "Prince" of Monaco. In the 1630s, Honore II sought French protection against the Spanish forces and was eventually, in 1642, received at the court of Louis XIII as "Duc et Pair Etranger". The princes of Monaco thus became vassals of the French kings while at the same time remaining sovereign princes. As successive princes and their families spent most of their lives in Paris, and through marriages with French nobilities, the House of Grimaldi, though Italian in origin, became thoroughly French in character. The principality continued its existence as a protectorate of France until the French Revolution.

A cracking vantage point covering lots of different road, which in Monaco are compact, with many tunnels and fly overs. I was lucky to spot this location, and managed to get a nice steady shot with my very light weight tripod.

White balance, colour and contrast adjusted in Lightroom and photoshop.
