Amedeo Modigliani (Livorno 1884 - Paris 1920) - Portrait of Beatrice Hastingse (1915) Oil on canvas 43×35 cm - Museo del Novecento, Mila

Painting with chopped raw polymer clay. Size about A5 - 6 "x 8" (15X21 cm)

Imagine a scene where the woman is gracefully swinging, with her legs elegantly extended and her arms luxuriously relaxed. The swinging should be beautifully captured, with the focus on the elegance of her movements and the drama of the pose. The woman should be dressed in a form-fitting, stylish dress that enhances her graceful silhouette. The lighting should be soft and neon glow, contributing to the intimate and dreamlike atmosphere of the piece. Use the style of Amedeo Modigliani

Another street in St Paul .

EXPLORER #402

Grave of Amedeo Modigliani and his fiancée Jeanne Hébuterne

Modigliani died at 35 of tubercular meningitis. His fiancée, twenty-one-year-old Hébuterne was eight months pregnant with their second child.

The day after his death, she threw herself out of a fifth-floor window, killing herself and her unborn child. Modigliani was buried in Père Lachaise Cemetery. Hébuterne was buried at the Cimetière de Bagneux near Paris, and it was not until 1930 that her embittered family allowed her body to be moved to rest beside Modigliani. A single tombstone honors them both. His epitaph reads: "Struck down by death at the moment of glory". Hers reads: "Devoted companion to the extreme sacrifice".

SSC: History

The history of a town is often shown in its architecture.

In the picture Ateneum, an artmuseum in the center of Helsinki. Ateneum has got a large collection of traditional Finnish art.

At the moment a large exhibition of Modigliani is going on.

We spent three weeks in Sardinia in August 2018 as a family vacation, with not as much time as would have been needed to really explore this wonderful island from a photographic viewpoint.

Thus, after I retired a few months thereafter, I decided to go back on my own for another couple of weeks, and settled for end of March 2019. I rented a house on the western coast of the island, with people who also owned an apartment near the eastern coast, and were willing to include use of it in the rental. That gave me bases on both sides of the island, which was ideal, as the road situation on the mountainous, eastern side of Sardinia is quite bad, and it takes ages to go to one place to another.

As usual, I will caption in bold type below these introductory paragraphs whenever needed.

These are the last four photographs from that trip.

This decaying villa from the 1800s is the house where painter Modigliani was born and raised. The Modigliani family were mining operators in the district of Carbonia, in southwestern Sardinia, and their base was this villa.

I guess you could say she's a bag lady! Other bits and pieces from here and there. Credit for face to Modigliani. (His faces seem to lend themselves well to composite people!)

Today's diversion: A collage experiment in the style of Modigliani. Custom background and manor house effects created in Photoshop. Elements (man and woman) compliments of itKuPiLLi at Mischief Circus.

A hat to astonish and amaze.

Credit to CAJoline for the scrumptious hat (and the tea with lemon), Efie provided the girl who is diving right in, whilst Magritte loaned me the lounging lady and Modigliani lent me the sophisticated one.

Thank you for looking.

Portrait de Zadkine

Œuvre d'Amedeo Modigliani (1884-1920)

Vers 1913

Amedeo Modigliani

Modigliani has always been one of my favorite artists. He acomplished great things in his short life. I have done projects based on his work in highschool and in college. It seemed only fitting to include him in my "In the Style of..." series

This is to celebrate my beautiful granddaughter who yesterday set up her apartment in Toronto to be ready for university in September. When she was 3, she asked me to make her a business card. "What would I say about your business, sweetie?" She thought for a moment and said very clearly, "Theodora Peirson, artist and thinker". And we still have a few copies of how she named her vocation. Now she enters the Ontario College of Art and Design University, my sweet artist and thinker.

This is her self-portrait at 7 - I saw neat essences of Lippo Memmi and Modigliani in it! ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lippo_Memmi . There's more of Theo's art in this album.
