In the RR station cafeteria I had this encounter with a lady who looked like she was coming out of a Modigliani painting.

青い瞳の女新作で僕の大好きなモディリアーニの画風を取り入れて、現代によみがえったモディリアーニの作品の様にお絵描きしました、僕が中学生の頃勉強の為有名画家の模写していて、セザンヌの青い花瓶の静物画やモディリアーニのネクタイの女を油絵で模写しました、その頃を思い出しながらお絵描きしました、この絵は贋作とも模写ともパロディー風とも言えませんが、モディリアーニの現代によみがえった幻の作品の様にお絵かきしました、ちなみに中学時代に模写したモディリアーニのネクタイをした女は、姉の家グランドピアノの上の壁に飾られていて、来客からこの絵は本物ですかと聞かれているそうです。(笑)

Amedeo Clemente Modigliani was an Italian painter and sculptor who worked mainly in France. Primarily a figurative artist, he became known for paintings and sculptures in a modern style characterized by mask-like faces and elongation of form. He died in Paris of tubercular meningitis, exacerbated by poverty, overwork and addiction to alcohol and narcotics.

Max Jacob, né en 1876 à Quimper et mort en 1944 à Drancy, est un poète et un romancier, mais aussi un peintre français. Précurseur de Dada puis du surréalisme sans y adhérer, il bouleverse de son vers libre et burlesque la poésie française dès 1917, et s'est intimement lié à Pablo Picasso, Guillaume Apollinaire, Marie Laurencin, André Salmon et Amedeo Modigliani (cf. wikipédia).
Venant d’une famille de tailleurs et de parents juifs, Max Jacob, jeune homme embrassa le catholicisme. Il était capable, malgré sa pauvreté, de conserver sa garde-robe en bon état et dans un autre tableau peint par Modigliani apparaît en chapeau haut-de-forme comme un parfait dandy. Bien qu'il n’ait que 40 ans, ses cheveux clairsemés sont déjà blancs. Modigliani a cerné ici sa nature compliquée, décrite par un autre ami : "la malice, l’ingénuité, la cupidité, la mélancolie, l’ironie, la douceur, la bonté, la cruauté, la lubricité, tout ce que voulez, sauf l’innocence, la simplicité, le cœur léger… ". Dans ce visage réticent transparaît intensément la sensibilité et l’intelligence du poète qui périt dans un camp de concentration nazi (cf. kerdonis).

Ce tableau avec ses épais contours noirs, le rouge des lèvres fortement accentué et sa touche fougueuse rappelle aussi l’œuvre d’expressionnistes allemands comme les membres de l’école Die Brücke, même si toute influence directe est impossible, peu d’œuvres d’expressionnistes allemands étant exposés à Paris du vivant de Modigliani (cf. kerdonis).

History
It was the retreat and final address of the painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Who Moved there in 1907 in an Attempt to Improve His arthritis, and Remained up to His death in 1919. In the late 1920s, Cagnes-sur-Mer est devenu a residence for Many renowned American literary and art figures, Such as Kay Boyle, George Antheil and Harry and Caresse Crosby. Author Georges Simenon (1903-1989), creator of the fictional detective Commissioner Jules Maigret Lived at 98, mounted of the Village in the 1950s with His third wife and Their three children; initial his "S" may still be seen in the wrought iron on the stairs.
Belarusian-French artist Chaim Soutine created Powerful, fanciful landscapes of southern France. A friend of Amedeo Modigliani, Soutine left colorful landscapes from Cagnes from 1924 on. Fauvist painter Francisco Iturrino aussi resided in the town Where he deceased.
