Cagnes-sur-Mer French Riviera
is a common presenting the form of a well-wooded and park-covered urban settlement in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region in southeastern France. Economically it forms a suburb to the city of Nice.
Geography
It is the Largest suburb of the city of Nice and lies to the west-southwest of it, about 15 km (9.3 mi) from the center. It is a town with no high rise buildings with PARTICULARLY Many woods and parks, as to MOST icts of urban homes, in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
History
It was the retreat and final address of the painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Who Moved there in 1907 in an Attempt to Improve His arthritis, and Remained up to His death in 1919. In the late 1920s, Cagnes-sur-Mer est devenu a residence for Many renowned American literary and art figures, Such as Kay Boyle, George Antheil and Harry and Caresse Crosby. Author Georges Simenon (1903-1989), creator of the fictional detective Commissioner Jules Maigret Lived at 98, mounted of the Village in the 1950s with His third wife and Their three children; initial his "S" may still be seen in the wrought iron on the stairs.
Belarusian-French artist Chaim Soutine created Powerful, fanciful landscapes of southern France. A friend of Amedeo Modigliani, Soutine left colorful landscapes from Cagnes from 1924 on. Fauvist painter Francisco Iturrino aussi resided in the town Where he deceased.
Esperando pelo Manoel Trindade no Bar do Biu, na João Moura com a Cardeal, fiz este desenho de memória tentando transmitir a serenidade e leveza dele. Também quis fazer uma figura mais alongada, como ele é, bem comprido, ao mesmo tempo com algo de Modigliani, um dos meus retratistas preferidos. Brinquei um pouco com os dreads que estão crescendo imprimindo texturas e padrões.
Das Museum Barberini Potsdam stellt Kunstwerke des italienischen Künstlers Amedeo Modigliani (1884-1920) aus.

Modigliani rencontre Max Jacob dès son arrivée à Paris en 1906. Les deux artistes sont des habitués du célèbre Bateau-Lavoir, où réside Picasso, lui aussi nouvellement installé dans la capitale. Dans les années 1915/1916, Modigliani réalise plusieurs portraits de son ami, dont deux tableaux aujourd'hui conservés dans des musées à Düsseldorf et à Cincinnati. Le dessin du musée des beaux-arts de Quimper est une étude pour le tableau de Düsseldorf, qui montre un Max Jacob salonnard et boulevardier.
Modigliani inscrivait souvent quelques mots sur les portraits qu'il réalisait de ses amis, leur donnant ainsi un sens, une indication particulière. Le dessin de Max Jacob porte les inscriptions: JACOB / à mon frère / très tendrement / la nuit du / 7 / mars / la lune croissante. Il témoigne de la grande connivence qui existait entre les deux hommes, du même signe astrologique, nés le même jour, tous deux d'origine juive et connaisseurs de la Kabbale. Le peintre insiste sur le chiffre 7 et sur la lune croissante, deux symboles porteurs de signification dans la tradition juive. Plus qu'un simple portrait, le dessin est ainsi le symbole de la profonde amitié qui existait entre les deux artistes.

《 Desnudo acostado》es un óleo sobre lienzo, de dimensiones 60 cm. x 92 cm. del pintor italiano Amedeo Modigliani. Pertenece a una Colección privada.
Amedeo Clemente Modigliani (Livorno; 12 de julio de 1884 - París; 24 de enero de 1920) fue un pintor y escultor italiano, perteneciente a la denominada Escuela de París.
La pintura, también conocida como 《Desnudo acostado con brazos abiertos》 o 《Desnudo rojo》, es sin lugar a dudas unos de los desnudos más conocidos de Modigliani, de hecho, es para muchos su símbolo más representativo. Si hubiera que preguntarse el motivo de tanto éxito (al menos en nuestra época) resultaría difícil responder, al menos en un primer examen.
En 2015 el cuadro fue subastado en Christie's y vendido a un coleccionista privado por 158 millones de Euros, convirtiéndose así en la segunda obra de arte por la que más se ha pagado en un subasta y superada tan solo por 《Las mujeres de Argel》 de Picasso (1955, Colección particular de Mr. Victor y Mrs. Sally Ganz, Nueva York, USA).
La desconocida modelo se extiende a lo largo de toda la pintura con brazos y piernas recortados por el borde del cuadro. Representada con ojos y cabello negro, yace lánguidamente sobre almohadones con los brazos extendidos y el vello de las axilas y el pubis a la vista (Detalle éste que, por ser inmoral para la época, traería no pocos problemas al artista). Los colores son pocos: las tonalidades presentes son tierra roja y ocre, azules, negros y un poco de blanco. El ambiente está apenas trabajado, casi un esbozo, para mejor resaltar el cuerpo brillante y suave.
El cuerpo de la modelo domina el espacio, de hecho lo llena y tiene que ser recortado por las rodillas, la muñeca y el codo como si la tela no pudiese contenerlo. El motivo de este particular recorte parece evidente: en la composición no hay espacio y la parte del cuerpo y del mobiliario del fondo que requerían su cuota de espacio son, simplemente, cortadas para no interferir en la correcta estilización del cuadro. El diván es rojo, la almohada azul, nada es rígido. El desnudo es para Modigliani una forma particular de retrato que el pintor recrea sobre la tela con la misma libertad que lo haría con el rostro. De este modo, aunque los contornos son angulados, se extienden de forma lineal para ensalzar la realidad.
Y es esta línea (fundamento del arte de Modigliani) en este desnudo en particular, la que marca los límites entre el el caos y la creación. La línea establece los contornos entre las luces y las sombras, marca espacios y construye volúmenes. Es la línea y sus diferentes espesores lo que delimita el primer plano y el fondo. Es en el uso de la línea donde Modigliani logra una conquista, un costoso armisticio entre el clasicismo y la modernidad, entre el amor sacro y el profano, entre la carne y el ideal. Una línea trabajada desde su juventud y que es la marca característica del artista.

This is the image I use for my icon. It is a Modigliani style of a self-portrait I took. I used an online tool to "modiglianize" it. I'll have to find that link again.
À l'automne 1919, Jeanne cesse peu à peu toute activité artistique après avoir fait de la photographie et créé des bijoux et des vêtements. De nouveau enceinte, elle est devenue le modèle préféré du peintre. Mais l'état de santé de ce dernier ne cesse de s'aggraver. Atteint de pleurésie depuis l'enfance, puis de méningite tuberculeuse, il abuse depuis longtemps de drogues et d’alcool et meurt à 35 ans, le 24 janvier 1920. Les parents de Jeanne consentent alors à accueillir leur fille, nantie d'un enfant, enceinte de huit mois et désespérée. Mais se voyant refuser d'honorer la mémoire de son amant ("le petit juif " non catholique !), Jeanne Hébuterne se défenestre le surlendemain.
Le 27 janvier, Amédéo Modigliani est enterré "comme un prince" au cimetière du Père-Lachaise, accompagné des artistes de Montmartre et de Montparnasse, notamment Picasso, Soutine, Vlaminck et Cendrars. Jeanne est enterrée le lendemain au cimetière de Bagneux dans l'intimité, son père ayant refusé aux amis de Modigliani de la faire enterrer aux côtés du "petit juif". Il reviendra cependant sur cette décision en 1930, la faisant retrouver ainsi son "prince de Montmartre" (il l'avait dès le départ tutoyée et appelée princesse), sans toutefois être à l'origine de l'épitaphe en italien : "compagne fidèle jusqu'au sacrifice suprême". Celle d'Amédée est aussi en italien : "la mort l'a rattrapé aussitôt qu'arrivé à la gloire" (cf. wikipédia).

Modigliani depicted his mistress, Jeanne Hebuterne ( 1898-1920), in more than twenty works but never in the nude. Her casual white chemise suggests modesty while also hiding her pregnancy. When Modigliani died from tuberculosis in 1920, Jeanne committed suicide the following day.

La Musée d'Art Moderne is a very fine museum of the City of Paris's art collection 1905-2013. It is not to be confused with the national collection at le Centre Georges Pompidou. Entry to the museum is free. When I was there, the special exhibition was the work of the New York subway artist Keith Haring (1958-90).
