Jewish-Italian painter, draughtsman and sculptor. While he is acknowledged to be one of the major artists of his generation, he was not as experimental and daring as his contemporaries. The direction of Picasso's work, for instance, changed radically between 1906 and 1909 as a result of the influence of Cézanne and other styles of art (notably African), but Modigliani's assimilation of these sources had no such far-reaching consequences. Given Modigliani's limited subject-matter in painting and sculpture, he achieved an extraordinary range of psychological interpretations of the human face, maintaining his individuality through his distinctive elongations of face or form.

青い瞳の女新作で僕の大好きなモディリアーニの画風を取り入れて、現代によみがえったモディリアー ニの作品の様にお絵描きしました、僕が中学生の頃勉強の為有名画家の模写していて、セザンヌの青い花瓶の静物画やモディリアーニのネクタイの女を油絵で模 写しました、その頃を思い出しながらお絵描きしました、この絵は贋作とも模写ともパロディー風とも言えませんが、モディリアーニの現代によみがえった幻の 作品の様にお絵かきしました、ちなみに中学時代に模写したモディリアーニのネクタイをした女は、姉の家グランドピアノの上の壁に飾られていて、来客からこ の絵は本物ですかと聞かれているそうです。(笑)

Cagnes-sur-Mer French Riviera
is a common presenting the form of a well-wooded and park-covered urban settlement in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region in southeastern France. Economically it forms a suburb to the city of Nice.
Geography
It is the Largest suburb of the city of Nice and lies to the west-southwest of it, about 15 km (9.3 mi) from the center. It is a town with no high rise buildings with PARTICULARLY Many woods and parks, as to MOST icts of urban homes, in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
History
It was the retreat and final address of the painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Who Moved there in 1907 in an Attempt to Improve His arthritis, and Remained up to His death in 1919. In the late 1920s, Cagnes-sur-Mer est devenu a residence for Many renowned American literary and art figures, Such as Kay Boyle, George Antheil and Harry and Caresse Crosby. Author Georges Simenon (1903-1989), creator of the fictional detective Commissioner Jules Maigret Lived at 98, mounted of the Village in the 1950s with His third wife and Their three children; initial his "S" may still be seen in the wrought iron on the stairs.
Belarusian-French artist Chaim Soutine created Powerful, fanciful landscapes of southern France. A friend of Amedeo Modigliani, Soutine left colorful landscapes from Cagnes from 1924 on. Fauvist painter Francisco Iturrino aussi resided in the town Where he deceased.

The several dozen nudes Modigliani painted between 1916 and 1919 constitute many of his best-known works. This series of nudes was commissioned by Modigliani's dealer and friend Léopold Zborowski, who lent the artist use of his apartment, supplied models and painting materials, and paid him between fifteen and twenty francs each day for his work.[27]
The paintings from this arrangement were thus different from his previous depictions of friends and lovers in that they were funded by Zborowski either for his own collection, as a favor to his friend, or with an eye to their "commercial potential", rather than originating from the artist's personal circle of acquaintances.[28]
The Paris show of 1917 was Modigliani's only solo exhibition during his life, and is "notorious" in modern art history for its sensational public reception and the attendant issues of obscenity.[29] The show was closed by police on its opening day, but continued thereafter, most likely after the removal of paintings from the gallery's streetfront window.[29]
Nude Sitting on a Divan is one of a series of nudes painted by Modigliani in 1917 that created a sensation when exhibited in Paris that year. According to the catalogue description from the 2010 sale of the painting at Sotheby's, seven nudes were exhibited in the 1917 show.
Nu couché realized $170,405,000 at a Christie's, New York, sale on 9 November 2015, a record for a Modigliani painting and placing it high among the most expensive paintings ever sold.

Unglaublich aber anscheinend wahr. Ich kann es noch nicht ganz fassen, aber mit diesen Bild wurde ich als Gewinner des Fotowettbewerbs „Deutschlands bester Fotograf 2011“ von SIGMA, AUDIO VIDEO FOTO BILD und computerbild.de ausgezeichnet. Dieses Gewinn möchte ich allen lieben Menschen widmen, die ich in meinem letzten Jahr in der Slowakei kennengelernt habe und die mich inspiriert haben.
Zur Entstehungsgeschichte des Bildes:
Dieses Bild entstand in meinen letzten Studienjahr in Bratislava, wo ich ein Jahr studierte, lebte, arbeite und meine Passion zur Fotografie auslebte.
Neben unseren Wohnheim befand sich eine kleine Vinothek mit einer sehr guten Auswahl an Weinen, in die ich ging, nachdem ich gerade wieder auf dem Weg ins Wohnheim war. Ich sah diesen Mann dort sitzen, weit über siebzig mit Gehhilfe, während er ein Glas Wein mit Schinken und Antipasti genoß. An der Wand hingen Kopien von Modigliani, die den Kontrast perfekt machten. Er sah glücklich und zufrieden aus, als ob er nicht nur auf sein Leben zurückblickte, sondern immer noch die Momente im Alter zu genießen weiß. Ich zögerte nicht lange und fragte ihn mit meinen Happen aus schlechtem slowakisch ob ich ein Foto machen dürfte und er willigte auch sofort ein. Er lachte und es schien als ob er sich wunderte, was der "Jungspund" mit seiner Kamera so interessant findet.
So drückte ich kurz ab und wir beide genoßen unseren Wein wieder.

this is a self portrait aiming towards the style of Modigliani. The photo reference is indeed a pic from my vacation in Corsica 16 years ago. The same trip from which the portrait of Benoit is referenced.
It was wonderful to see our continental members returning to the house party after a long absence caused by the pandemic. Genest once more had a table with examples of his work and had also provided the hand-cut stack of three identical 324pc jigsaws for the team speed competition (Mucha advert). I bought one of these three, Rob has the second and the third has become a library jigsaw. Another jigsaw on display was a hand painted 191pc tray-jigsaw of a herring gull.
On display he had two experimental jigsaws - his first in the technique of continuous cutting.
This one had been fully dissected, with the rear mazes painted in complementary colours Modigliani portrait of a young boy, 244pc.
The second had been left at the two interlocking maze stage. I was so overwhelmed with this jigsaw (flower still life, 263pc by Jan Brueghel, not Renoir) that I forgot to even photograph it! Genest said that it took immense concentration to cut that way and was very tiring.
I feel immensely privileged to be able to buy and commission jigsaws from our BCD cutters. Genest also brought many commissions for lucky BCD members, including myself, Penbleth, Frances & Pete.

Au moment où Modigliani a peint ce portrait, son style distinctif de représentation de la figure est bien développé. Le cou allongé et les traits stylisés de cette femme incarnent sa vision personnelle de la beauté. this was for a painting class at palomar college. The assignment was to do an interpretation of one artist's work more or less in the style of another artist. I did Mona Lisa in the Style of Modigliani. Originally, my solution did not have the dragon in the background. My prof would not be satisfied until I put a contemporary reference in, he wanted a condensation stream or a CocaCola logo.... eew. I put the dragon and told my teacher that it was flash art from a tattoo shop and Mona's secret was she had this image inked permanently on her thigh. I was gonna paint over it after I got my grade but here I leaned that I think it's bad luck to paint over dragons. Anyway this is a painting that was for me so much fun and the teals and turquoises were just so juicy and yummy to work with.

I thought this would be a bit more simple than it was.. I struggled a bit with the look and with matching the colors in the painting. It is also hard to put my hair up, as I hardly have any!! :)
What I came up with does Modigliani no justice, but it was completey inspired by the painting none the less.
