G. H. Residence was conceived less as a house, but more as an extension and outgrowth of the limestone and aquifers of the Central Texas geography. The roof structure is configured so as to create a natural basin for the collection of rainwater, not unlike the vernal pools found in the outcroppings of Enchanted Rock. These basins harness additional natural flows through the use of photovoltaic and solar hot-water panels. The water, electricity and heat which are harvested on the roof tie into an extensive climate conditioning system which utilizes water source heat pumps and radiant loops to supply both the heating and cooling for the residence. The climate system is connected to geothermal ground loops as well as pools and water features thereby establishing a system of heat exchange which minimizes reliance on electricity or gas.
The primary formal gesture of the project inserts two long native limestone walls into the site. The walls serve as the boundary demarking domesticated space with the vegetation outbound of these walls being native while the interior spaces are more lush and tropical. The program of the residence is configured along the stone walls each of which serves as the spine for the public and private wings, respectively. The offset between the main wings establish an exterior courtyard which will serve as an extended living space for much of the year. The siting of the boundary walls and building elements was informed by the presence and preservation of three mature native oaks. The house enjoys close proximity to both Emma Long Metro Park and
West Bull Creek Preserve.

"The awkward angles in this powder room were the foundation of my creativity for designing this beautiful space." -Angelique Bulosan
Has been there a long time on Glenstone waiting for me to snap a few pics. It doesn't get much more modern than this. The building is a simple box of brick with a glass facade. The canopy is a folded plate supported by W sections all painted white. Beautiful in its simplicity.

Using an European musical instrument as inspiration, The Scatola was designed as a unique piece with special cut-out designs on its doors which were based on the paper fold and cut technique. These openings are laser cut with remarkable precision, this, combined with the high quality pure white finish make this piece an object of prestige in any room you place it. The cuts are very similar in design to those of a musical instrument and substitute knobs to open the credenza. This item was manufactured in a limited numbered edition and each unit includes a signed certificate engraved in the inner side of one of it's doors.

I started making this giant heart last week by creating a frame of bamboo, willow (for the curves) and chicken wire, stuffed with cellophane. I covered the design with moss and cemented it into a container. I had no idea what flowers I was going to use.
Luckily, a lot of orchids came back from an event, so I was able to cover both sides with more orchids in water-filled tubes than my budget would normally allow. I left spaces between the orchids on the lower portion of the heart otherwise it might have looked as if it was made entirely of fake flowers.
