Gorgeous midcentury-styled hotel. I was able to snap a few pictures while staying there for a show.

Gate fold Design for 1st Album

Detail of knot on a Marcel Wanders Knotted Future chair.

Has been there a long time on Glenstone waiting for me to snap a few pics. It doesn't get much more modern than this. The building is a simple box of brick with a glass facade. The canopy is a folded plate supported by W sections all painted white. Beautiful in its simplicity.

Splendid does not begin to describe the exterior of Iceland's Harpa Concert Hall and Convention Center.

The interior is equally spectacular. My only regret is there was not a performance that matched Queen Mary's port schedule.

The Delta is yet another edgy storage solution created for independent living spaces, especially lofty areas or those larger living rooms that can well accommodate room separations. Smaller spaces will benefit from its special minimalistic character and modern feel. Usually we take notice of the larger elements in a room, but in the case of the Delta, it is definitely its shape and angular form (hence its name) that will bring to life your storage possibilities. A layout not to be forgotten, the Delta invites you to defy your notions of diversity and originality, providing a new depth to bookshelves as part of the finer decoration of a home.

This brilliantly-colored vase is by German maker Carstens. While there are molded marks and a code on the bottom, they are almost impossible to read given the low relief and glossy glaze. It seems to be shape 5046 at 20 cm, the same shape as another vase shown here: www.flickr.com/photos/altfelix11/12723358455

It was found in Richfield, Minnesota.

G. H. Residence was conceived less as a house, but more as an extension and outgrowth of the limestone and aquifers of the Central Texas geography. The roof structure is configured so as to create a natural basin for the collection of rainwater, not unlike the vernal pools found in the outcroppings of Enchanted Rock. These basins harness additional natural flows through the use of photovoltaic and solar hot-water panels. The water, electricity and heat which are harvested on the roof tie into an extensive climate conditioning system which utilizes water source heat pumps and radiant loops to supply both the heating and cooling for the residence. The climate system is connected to geothermal ground loops as well as pools and water features thereby establishing a system of heat exchange which minimizes reliance on electricity or gas.

The primary formal gesture of the project inserts two long native limestone walls into the site. The walls serve as the boundary demarking domesticated space with the vegetation outbound of these walls being native while the interior spaces are more lush and tropical. The program of the residence is configured along the stone walls each of which serves as the spine for the public and private wings, respectively. The offset between the main wings establish an exterior courtyard which will serve as an extended living space for much of the year. The siting of the boundary walls and building elements was informed by the presence and preservation of three mature native oaks. The house enjoys close proximity to both Emma Long Metro Park and

West Bull Creek Preserve.

These Upholstered stools are made out of a wooden structure with foam, connected with a fabric hinge. They were designed specifically for the break out area of The Levantina Bar to create interaction between the visitors. Analysing the way people congregate, the outcome was that people prefer to seat in circles for better interaction and more privacy. The fabric hinge gives the possibility to be seated in many different ways. Depending on the communication between users the seats can be positioned to accommodate each user’s own space or to connect people on a circle or a line.

From the "amram wedding" (the numbers piece), to the rescued 45's "visual music" number, it's nyc artist living in full tilt.

AFTER SHOT: interior, art & photography: a. golden, eyewash design, NYC, July 2009.

What you see:

The Floor:

1970's gray linoleum tiles covered with multi-layers of industrial-strength Behr indoor/outdoor porch paint with a polka-dot pattern. Sealed with eco-friendly polyurethane (unless you want to re-do the floors again, I don't recommend this product).

The Art:

Clear acrylic numbers were recycled from a closed 1930's bank. I think they may have originally been for displaying numbers in the lobby. However, they were unopened & discovered in a sealed box, with original wrapping. The numbers, whilst may appear random, are all dates of meaning to the married couple. Ex.: Their birthdays; their favourite numbers; the date they met, the date they married, &tc. c. 2006
