Marzipan modelling which was part of my City and Guilds 7900 design in sugarcraft. I really enjoyed making this except for the stick insect which gave me a lot of problems propping him up and making the stick hands and legs.

Temporary objects, such as a parked bicycle, are a trigger for me to see how I can use something like that during a shoot.
In this setting, black appears in the photo in varying degrees.
The combination of learning to see and taking the time to arrive at the right atmosphere ensures that you, together with the model, end up with such a photo.

この鉄道模型はとても精巧に出来ていておどろきました。実際に電気は架線よりパンタグラフで供給を受けて走ります。鉄のレール鉄の車輪のため音も本物のような重厚感のある音です。

This is my friend Gokhan and a picture we took a bunch of months ago. I wanted a photo of Gokhan smoking so we set this up. I am forever appreciative of my models who never say no to whatever I ask of them.
I've had a lot of "nature-y" shots lately so wanted to put up something more urban and simple.

I photographed this car just after it had left the start line on the Manchester to Blackpool Veteran and Vintage Car Run in June 1983. It's a 1904 Cadillac Model A, and the programme of the event had this note about the car:

One of only three Model A Cadillacs in the UK, this car was first owned by Mr Pratt of Pratt's Petroleum, and then by Esso, being used a great deal in the 1930s for promoting Esso products. It has been in the Veteran Car Club since 1955, and completed several London to Brighton and Manchester to Blackpool runs since coming into Mr Hutt’s possession in 1976. Last year’s best effort was the VCC’s North West main event from Altrincham to Llandudno, a trip which was completed in one day via Denbigh and Betws-y-Coed, necessitating 1½ hours continuously in bottom gear.
