Chocolate cupcakes with vanilla/milk chocolate buttercream. Decorations made from modelling chocolate

My sister made me some modelling chocolate (she knows what gets me excited lol!) in white and dark.

It's the MOST INCREDIBLE THING EVER!!! You can mold it like fondant, colour the white chocolate, it's easy to make, dries semi hard, can do intricate details without supports (the feelers on the butterfly), needs no dusting wth icing sugar/greasing to cut it or stop it sticking to your hands, and it sticks together without glue!

Perfect for those of you who think fondant is evil tasting - this stuff tastes like Tootsie Rolls.

She's glad to share the recipe:

10 oz chocolate

1/3 cup glucose syrup

Melt chocolate, wait for it to cool a little. Warm glucose syrup in microwave for a few seconds and add to melted choc. Stir until all glucose is mixed in. Should form into a ball. Do not over mix! Pat down into a container lined with greaseproof paper. Goes quite hard, but you can make it pliable by kneading it with your fingers.

I think, she is 'the model' that occurs most on my stream. She is a beggar at the old city of Jerusalem. She is selling old clothes, that I always wonder who would buy (especially, that people throw away good clothes all the time). Someone told me she is originally from Gazza and is lonely in JLM. Often, she can be rather aggressive. I think here you see the other side of the coin: her vulnerability.

Light settings:

On the left front I have an octabox, on the left of the model is a second studio lamp that gives a little more power to give her face profile especially.

A reflector causes the light of the studio lamp to be reflected to the left to soften the shadow.

In this picture, the contrast has reduced the contrast, in addition to the soft color tones in the picture, reduces the contract that the picture becomes a unit.

Mindy's direct look keeps you looking at the photo for a long time.

in 1963, the CB&Q Havelock Shop built 300 XM4 boxcars, 47500-47799. The last 10 were built with Transco side sheathing.

I had often wondered how to go about building one of these unique cars until Kurt Kruse, as a great modeling gift (or perhaps as a mean trick) had sides 3D printed for this car.

It was still something of a challenge to build. In addition to the resin sides, it uses Branchline ends and roof, Accurail underframe, Plano roofwalk and brake platform, some DA freight car detail parts and a bunch of bits fabricated from styrene. Painted with Model Master insignia red and my galvanized mix. Decals came from a bunch of sets including Microscale and some Modeler's Choice leftovers.

Sunday I did a model shoot for two models from the Riverside area. We shot at my studio and at a few outdoor locations around Palm Desert. I think it went pretty well, we got lots of great photos and had a fun time doing it. These guys were a couple of characters, lots of fun to work with.

I met Jackson when we were both exhibiting at the Seattle Erotic Art Festival. He asked if I'd mind modeling for some photographs, so we did an impromptu photoshoot.
