Not far from the town centre of Carrick, in northern Tasmania, is a field operated by a model airplane club. This old model Tiger Moth proudly marks the place. 100 years ago an actual Tiger Moth flew in the area piloted by one of Tasmania's pioneers of aviation photography, H.J. King. www.flickr.com/photos/luminosity7/52732434122/in/album-72...
During a photoworld exhibit, she was probably the only model available for shoots; hence, there were several of us jostling for position to take her picture. This isn't the best angle but I was avoiding bodies and elbows to get a clean shot. I suppose she is really a painter too.
This coast cannon from the British company Vickers-Armstrong, model 38.1/45 cm belongs to the Castillitos coastal artillery battery, in Cartagena. The project for this battery dates back to 1926 but it was built between 1933 and 1936. These artillery pieces could fire projectiles weighing almost one ton at 35 kilometers away. As I said, it is better that they have been declared a heritage of industrial archeology and are dedicated to recreational entertainment than to destroy. The views from here of the Cartagena coast are unbeatable with all the shades of blue 250 meters below our feet on the edge of impressive cliffs.
As we have continued to digitize old photographs for our parents, I came across this excellent image of my wife’s Great Grandparents automobiles taken from their front porch during a snowstorm. The picture was taken around 1936 near the North Texas town of Woodson. I not sure about the car on the left, but it looks possibly like a 1932 Ford Model B. The car on the right is a 1936 Ford Model 48. I felt that this image really captures that remote sense of loneliness on a 1930s farm in rural North Texas. A good day to stay inside next to the stove and play dominoes if you ask me!

On the Photokina 2016 Fuji invited many of their ambassadors to give a one hour workshop. One of them was Trevor Yerburny. If you google him, you wil find out that he is a great artist. In his workshop about portrait photography he showed his theory on a beautiful model. What he did with one studiolight and before a black background, I tried to do without. Thank you mr. Yerburny for your excellent lecture ... and model.

A location on Strijp-S that I have not visited before. The atmosphere of this location really appealed to us and playing with the available light was a nice challenge.

A simple photo, where I made use of indirect sunlight, standing on the shadow side of her face and also found the rusty part of the fence to match the color tones in her clothes.

You can see every posture as a pose. You can also use the unconscious postures as a pose.
A mobile can help in an easy way to show those unconscious poses.
It doesn't matter to me whether the model is looking at the cell phone or makes eye contact with the camera for a while. The posture appears normal and natural.

A summery feeling is sometimes enough to let a photo do the talking.
The model was very tall and with those high heels towered over everyone. Nice skeleton in the background. Taken 06.02.06
Chrissy poses for an outdoor portrait while we were at the Chester Roberts Park, which is a small waterfront park in Port Charlotte, Florida. I had cropped in considerably on this image and so I decided to try ON1 Resize. It did a great job and I'm honestly impressed with the resizing results.
Incidentally, while my beautiful granddaughter has been my model over the years, she is now stepping behind the lens and taking up photography as a hobby. After handing giving her one of my older DSLRs and providing less than an hour of instruction, she got the hang of it and started shooting. Surprisingly, she shoots in the Manual mode, too! She's also learning Lightroom. You can check out some of her work and encourage her at Chrissy's Flickr Page.

I wonder what she's thinking...
I have an 80 year old photographer as a mentor, and since the pool we were using was near his condo, he dropped in. Frank is a retired veteran of photography, so when he is on the scene, I like to get him to help. Frank's specialty was photographing women, and his nickname was Hef, so, well, he is quite at home working with a swimsuit model. I forgot to tell him that Page had some reservations about looking like she fell out of a Playboy magazine. So I thought she might be a bit hesitant when he was coaching her in cleavage enhancing poses like this one. But the professional that Page is, she never wavered, and even looks like she is having some fun.
She's probably thinking - "My boyfriend's really going to like this."
