A Cardona part de la vall salina o Salí s'està restaurant, en concret la part central de la imatge, el "Terrer Nou".

In the (former) mining town of Cardona they are restoring part of the scars in the landscape, for example this central valley, know as "Terrer Nou". It was full of waste material from the mining.

Rupit is one of the most beautiful villages in all Catalonia. In some ways it could be said that it's the perfect iconic image of rural Catalonia, and as such it has been used as a model or prop for hundreds of "pessebres" or nativity scenes, quite a tradition in Catalonia (some of which are true large dioramas that took a year to make).
Sadly I had not been in Rupit for at least 25 years, even I lve nearby, because in weekends is usually cramped with tourists. The price of fame.

La vila de Cardona s'exten a ponent del seu castell, i estava tota ella enmurallada, fortificacions de les quals encara en queden unes poques restes.
A la esquerra es pot veure la Muntanya de Sal.

The town of Cardona seen from up the mighty castle, see of the viscounts of Cardona. In the middle ages it was one of the richest towns as it had the all important salt mines. It was a walled town and was besieged several times, specially in 1711 and 1714.
Below the town, to the left, you can see the so called Salt Mountain., a unique site that could be visited.

El castell de Cardona és un dels més importants de la historia de Catalunya, pel seus vincles amb els vescomtes de Cardona, el control de les mines de sal, i els setges borbonics durant la guerra de Successió, notablement el de 1711 i el de 1713-1714, on només es rendí després de la caiguda de Barcelona.

The castle of Cardona, above the city of the same name.
It's one of the key fortresses in Catalonia, with a lot of history in medieval and modern times, most notably it's control of the salt mines and the borbonic sieges of 1711 and 1713-1714 during the War of the Spanish Succession, where it was the last standing spot of Catalan resistance, only surrendering a week after the fall of Barcelona.
It's romanesque church is also one of the more relevant in Catalonia. And Orson Welles filmed here Chimes at Midnight (1965).

L'església de Sant Serni de Nagol, tot i que relativament senzilla, està situada en una posició privilegiada i espectacular sobre la vall del Valira i St. Julià de Loria.
Data del s. XI, consagrada el 1055, i em varen sorpendre amb que es podia visitar, com a minim a l'estiu.

This church of St. Serni de Nagol, in Andorra is quite humble in size and style, but it's located in a spectacular rocky range above the town of St. Julià de Loria. It was built in 1055, and now could even be visited, at least in certain days. It still preserves part of it's medieval frescoes.

The mountains surrounding the French-Andorran frontier at Pas de la Casa, seen from the Port d'Envalira pass, at 2409 m. above sea level.
I recently came into possession of this old Kodak Six-20 Brownie Model C camera which dates from 1946-1953. I was surprised to find it had a roll of unprocessed Kodak Verichrome Pan film in it!
Of course, I wondered if it would be worth trying to have it developed to see what, if anything was on this film that had probably been in the camera for the best part of 60 years!
A friend of mine very kindly processed it for me and there were a few shots worth processing further - two of them are pictured here.
The registration plate DV3427 on the bus told me this was a 1965 Leyland Comet with body build by Midland at Riccarton in Christchurch. The bus then seems to have gone further south to Dunedin and into service with Newton's Coach Tours.
Amazing that these photos have never been seen until now and were able to be retrieved from such old film!
Maybe someone knows more history on this?

I have owned a Danbo for quite awhile now but i have only ever done one shot with it. My friend set up a tumblr (cheek it out Here if you want) and put a couple of shots on there with Danbo's, kinda inspired me to do one.

Looking north from the castle of Cardona, in Catalonia. You can see the snowy peaks of the Pyrenees, quite unusual in this severe drought we are in.
