I was looking at some of Annie Liebovitz's work for Vanity Fair where she had a Film Noir theme but shot in color rather than B&W. I looked over a similar theme that I shot and tried it.

The idea for the shoot was a Twenties flapper theme, high key, with hats. It ended up being a contemporary fashion shoot with, well, hats. I do think this comes probably closest to what we had originally envisioned.

Model is Caitlyn Hightower. She made the hat.

Strobist: 4 lights. 2 B800s in stripboxes (no diffusers) on the background, f/18. Key is an X1600 in a beauty dish with sock diffuser, camera left at about 45º, f/11. There is a floor skip, a B400 at about 1/2 power, camera right, to put light under the hat.

Street Fashion shoot with Natasha Borland in Butetown, Cardiff.

It was Luda's birthday so we planned a celebratory shoot at a studio near London City Airport. It was my first time using this new space in the Docklands — and it didn’t disappoint. The studio was filled with beautiful wood carvings and sculptures, giving it a unique character I’ll definitely return to.

Ivory Fox (Instagram) is a performer and burlesque dancer that I shot on film like over 5 years ago. I remember shooting her with Jen and a Camera in Chinatown, NYC.

I shot my #mamiyarz and Portra film. Great times and medium format film never disappoints.
