Ariel was another model I shot over at Lee's studio. This was about 4 years ago.
We had so much fun since this was the first time I really started working with strobes (flash photography).
I still like natural light but damn, with a good set of lights you can do some wild stuff. I think for 2022 I'm going to look for some used lights to play with.

Brandi is a body builder who is entering a fitness competition. I would say her level of fitness is high. She is also quite beautiful (I know I had to tell you that); I removed a couple of small blemishes but that was it for post. No general skin retouching.
Strobist: Key is an X1600 in a white 86" PLM in shoot-thru mode, camera left, f/11 at ISO 200. The background is lit with 2 B800s in reflective umbrellas, 1/2 stop over.

B800 on a 20º grid at the background (which is a white cyc), 2 other B800s as a rim/hairlights behind right/left. The 2 accent lights are seasoned to taste - no meter readings.

The idea for the shoot was a Twenties flapper theme, high key, with hats. It ended up being a contemporary fashion shoot with, well, hats.
Model is Lauryn Libby. She made the hat.
Strobist: 4 lights. 2 B800s in stripboxes (no diffusers) on the background, f/18. Key is an X1600 in a beauty dish with sock diffuser, camera left 45º, f/11. There is a floor skip, a B400 at about 1/2 power, camera right, to put light under the hat.
