When looking for a beautiful setting to take photos, there are several elements that I as a photographer pay attention to.

Elements that you can find in this photo are, for example, creating a rhythm, working with depth in a photo, depth in this photo is not only created by the seats behind the model, the seat in the foreground has the function as ( repoussoir), a repoussoir was already used in painting, by placing an object in the foreground, you will intensify the depth.

Although it is a nice convenient location, this photo is about the model. I looked at whether a repetition could be created. A nice match was the combination of the color of the chairs and the red in her clothes.

Furthermore, a beautiful powerful pose, with which she can influence the balance between light and shadow in the photo.

And then the picture is finished for me.

Working on location, as if it were a photo studio.

On the right side we have a large building, which blocks the direct sunlight, and behind her on the left is the Klokgebouw, which works as a reflector and provides a hairlight for both her hair and her right arm.

At the right front, light shines along the building, illuminating her face.

I am standing on the shadow side of her face, the shadow creates depth in the photo on the one hand, but also atmosphere on the other.

Even though I have no control over the sunlight, I can translate everything back to how I would have placed my studio lights in a studio.

On location, it is mainly the art of learning to see and analyzing how light and shadow work. Actually it's not difficult, if I can do it, anyone can.
