It's the time of year again where we get to look back and ponder a year that has passed. I've had a very hectic 2017, with loads of work and work-related travel. It is rewarding and my career is doing great, but I can't have it all: my social life and my LEGO hobby have suffered. I had a blast at Brickfair Va. and went to one or two LUG meetings, but that's about it in terms of events. I was unable to go to Steam for the first time in ten years and had to turn down an invite to display models in Bahrain. I am "on hiatus" as a contributor for The Brothers Brick, as I just don't have the time. Fortunately I did get to meet most of the team in Seattle in the summer, as well as Lino Martins, which was great fun. Looking at my builds, I am a bit surprised I managed to still build 17 new models. That's a lot less than last year, but still about one per three weeks. Of course, some of these are things I already had built before, like the Sea Knight and the Hawkeye, but the current versions were redesigned and almost completely rebuilt this year.

I don't think 2018 will be significantly less busy work-wise (I already have a work trip planned in January), but hope I can make it to Steam in October. I also plan to attend Brickfair Va again. I'll continue my 'Aircraft of Carrier Wing 8' project, with more aircraft from USS Forrestal in 1965 (F-8E Crusader, A-3B Skywarrior, E-1 Tracer) as well as a few more movie vehicles and a smattering of other cars. I am also planning to build a diorama for some of them.

I am looking forward to seeing what all of you are up to next year. All the best for 2018!

-Added to theCream of the Crop pool as most interesting.

This is an old picture that I found of me modeling in a show for a friend. Probably the same outfit in both pictures

Lynette practically flew out of the Maverick to capture tis shot.

I am sure she was looking at the dog.

I will wait until next summer before I ask her to go up MT Sherman rd again.
