The interesting story here is that my bride and I took the trip up to Chi-Town the Thursday and Friday after Xmas. On the train up from B/N I was listening to my iPod and catching up with some podcasts I wanted to listen to. As a homebrewer the current hop and malt shortage is big news and the podcast listed some "alternate" bittering methods. One of those was a Finnish (I think...) beer called Sahti which uses Juniper berrries for the bittering instead of hops.

Well guess what?!?!?!? Goose had just brewed some Sahti!! So I got to try it. It was good and according to our waiter is the "staffs current favorite".

This as I wrote above is Mauduro which is more of a brown ale style but it too was good. The only thing I really didn't like was the Midway Organic IPA. I like IPA's and Imperial IPA's (more hops!!!) but the Midway just didn't do it for me.
