The Cortina was launched just ahead of the 1962 London Motor Show, under the project name Archbishop, as either a 1198 cc or 1499 cc as a two or four door saloon or five door estate and the more sporting 1499 cc GT or the Lotus Cortina of 1600 cc Twin Cam.

The Cortina was designed to be economical, cheap to run and easy and inexpensive to produce in Britain. Originally to be called Ford Consul 225, the car was launched as the Consul Cortina until a modest facelift in 1964, The base model was supplied with a simple body coloured front grille, though this version cost almost the same as the better equipped chrome grilled Deluxe it sold poorly and there a few survivors.

The Cortina was given a mild facelift, unveiled at the October 1964 London Motorshow, the big announcement was the improved airflow system update cars have a wider grille and a vent on the C pillar, and were now known simply as Cortina rather than the models original full title of Consul Cortina .

Mole Kingsnake - Lampropeltis rhombomaculata (juvenile)

9 October 2001

Found in a sidewalk crack by a visitor to my workplace, who was upset about its presence. One of the staff came to me for the rescue. This campus is near some woodlands and we occasionally had critters come close for a visit.

I've seen this snake a couple of times, but have only been able to photograph it this once.

*Corretivo amarelo [Perfeitoooo!!! Mil vezes melhor que o da Contém!]

1982 Bedford MK 4x4 registered YAV259X, new to the armed forces and disposed of in 2000. The 'Countryside Fencing' signwriting relates to the vehicle's previous owner from Haddenham, Cambridgeshire; it now lives 400 miles north in Argyll. It's dawned on me that this is potentially used to lift boats in and out of the Loch behind the camera. Seen here outside its private owners' residence in March 2025.

The T62 is sort of an awful tank be honest so I'm just going to say the Mk 62 is more of a T64 even if it started out life as a T54.

Also shown is the Mk 57-2. and the Mk TOS. I limited the TOS as far as payload to make less cheaty to use in the 70s. The missiles wouldn't be like the TOS either, and might be conventional. I mean its not like missiles haven't been put on tanks before right?

That's all of these. I might make a Mk 72 "T72" in the future that will have a new turret, and side skirts, and I may make some other utility vehicle, but I mainly want to start work on a fighter now. It will most likely be the biggest challenge as I suck at aircraft IMO.

Supermarine Spitfire Mk IXc At IWM Duxford for Flying Legends 2017.

The Mark-IV is capable of transporting 500 colonists or refugees, with a crew of 150. The forward parabolic reflectors are recessed into the hull so that it can still be connected to additional units.

This is only Mk.V in the sense that it's the fifth version I've built.

The previous four incarnations were all 2 studs wide, which looked accurate but was way too small.

At Saturn V's 1:110 scale, the main body of a Soyuz craft should be 2.5 studs with a maximum diameter (the flared base) being 3.5 studs.

This is a closer compromise, and difficult to build with such a limited array of 3-wide components.

It inevitably relies on an illegal connection for the orbital module, in real life I've achieved it using a 24mm tire turned inside-out. Also, a smooth tire is used at the base of the 3x3 cone, but Studio 2.0 only offerers the textured tread version.

The first Class 66 locomotive, 66001, passes through Water Orton station with the late running 04.18 Felixstowe South to Burton service.

66001 entered service in April 1998, making it just short of 20 years old. 455 Class 66's - nicknamed 'Sheds' because of their distinctive cab roof - have been built. The last locomotive was delivered to the UK in April 2016.

The last of the class - 66779 - was named Evening Star and painted in British Railways' lined green livery matching 92220 the last steam locomotive built for British Railways. 66779 has been offered to the national collection when it's withdrawn - probably somewhere around the year 2050 as the class have an expected lifespan of 40 years. 66001 will hopefully also be preserved, along with some examples of the Class 59 which was British built and inspired the design of the 66's.
