Colonel Howard's Misunderstood Order
After firing twice, the militia retreated behind the Continentals who were awaiting the British advance in this area. British reinforcements, Fraser's 71st Highlanders, threatened the Continentals' right flank. Lt. Col. Howard ordered his right flank to turn to face them. His center and left flank misunderstood and began an orderly retreat. Sensing victory, the British broke ranks and surged forward. Morgan ordered the Continentals to face about and fire at close range. Raw recruits of the British 7th Regiment panicked and fell back. The Highlanders, still coming on like a mob, were repulsed. The stage was set for entrapment, annihilation, and an American victory.

Me and all my friends
We're all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and
There's no way we ever could
Now we see everything that's going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it
So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change
It's hard to beat the system
When we're standing at a distance
So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change

This project called misunderstood, started with the idea of portraying these people escaping from a society that does not accept them for what they are and where they do not fit in. In this shot the model is supposed to represent an androgynous figure in a plain background who is wearing very impactful clothes in order to catch its beauty that lies in its diversity.
Sitting along south First Street sits a historic icon of San Jose’s past. Often overlooked and possibly misunderstood as a simple rickety old example of Victorian architecture, lays a staple of the community’s infrastructure, a small business that caters to the transportation, recreational and social needs of the central San Jose community.
Faber’s Cyclery has been in business for 99 years, an integral part of the community, this simple bike shop is a hub for neighbors to get together as well as resource for downtown residents. Alexander LaRivier, a self described bicycle nut simple approach to running a traditional shop that prides himself on providing good service at reasonable rates is the answer to Faber’s Cyclery’s longevity. After years of overseeing the entire day-to-day operation of his small business, coupled with a long-standing law suite between the owner of the historic building, Alex has adopted an altruistic sensibility about the future of his business.
Faber’s Cyclery will be celebrating it’s 100th anniversary in 2012 and with the future of the building’s fate and possibly the business to be determined by the outcome of the litigation, It’s Alex’s hope to see this historic example of Victorian architecture restored to it’s former glory, as well as the business turned into a bicycle museum for children and visitors to learn about the history and the evolution of the bicycle.
The following story was produced in hopes of raising public awareness and to encourage a proactive effort by the community as well as San Jose’s public officials to help formulate a plan that would determine the future of this San Jose landmark as well as insure it be preserved for future generations of bicycle and architectural enthusiast alike, to enjoy for years to come.
You know I used to think he said "I CAN remember when it was good, moments of happiness WITH YOU...maybe I just misunderstood..."
So I never got it straight, but I guess I prefer it that way.
Falling away with you
I can't remember when it was good
moments of happiness elude
maybe I just misunderstood
all of the love we left behind
watching the flash backs intertwine
memories I will never find
so I'll love whatever you become
and forget the reckless things we've done
I think our lives have just begun
I think our lives have just begun
and I'll feel my world crumbling,
and I'll I feel my life crumbling
and feel my soul crumbling away
and falling away,
falling away with you
staying awake to chase a dream
tasting the air you're breathing in
I hope I won't forget a thing
promise to hold you close and pray
watching the fantasies decay
nothing will ever stay the same
and all of the love we threw away
and all of the hopes we've cherished fade
making the same mistakes again
making the same mistakes again
and I feel my world crumbling,
and I feel my life crumbling down,
I can feel my soul crumbling away,
and falling away,
falling away with you
all of the love we left behind
watching the flash backs intertwine
memories I will never find
memories I will never find

Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, was a misunderstood king. His interests did not follow the norms of other kings. From a young boy, he exhibited behaviors that did not impress his father. Upon adulthood, Frederick was forced into marriage with a woman that he did not love and forever resented his father. to channel his anger, he played instruments, kept many dogs, and collected beautiful art that helped to express his misunderstood views of the world.

Alzheimer's is misunderstood because it's not a disease people see. But a CT Scan can reveal the deterioration happening inside the mind of an Alzheimer's patient.

Ode to the monthly project wooden spoon
RIP my mortal image. Oh how hard we worked to make you be. The exhaustive planning, the imagination set free, the impeccable timing and simultaneous attention to composition, the hours of photoshopping to harmoniously blend the contradicting elements of innocent childish enjoyment with death & decomposition, and not to mention finishing it off with a caption that perfectly summarises the movement, creativity and mystery.
You could have been up there with the best, but you were misunderstood. Oh the humanity. You will always be a part of me little man, and I will strive to get better and better at these monthly projects until you are blessed by Sengsei with divine immortality.
Ah, the misunderstood goat, friend or foe? In finally manage to get an opportunity to photograph one. Some call them Satan's little helper, some call them dinner, some call them cute. Can they be all this? Shot with my 35-350 under really terrible lighting conditions.

Have you ever felt misunderstood
like no one gets you
That's how I feel everyday
Seeing everything going on around me
People say that I have changed
But I know that it's still the same
I'm not trying to be a little miss perfection
Cause nobody's perfect
I don't wanna hear all the misconceptions
It's just not worth it
When you're being pulled
in a million directions
You might just lose your step and fall

Minority practices often get misunderstood. Now my home country has decided that homeschoolers need to pass 7 to 14 exams every year in 6 weeks towards the end of the school year (it used to be 2 to 9, depending on the age of the pupil), Apparently, kids haven't learned anything unless there is an exam that proves it. This includes arts, sports etc. Bureaucracy rules.
Amongst the clutter left behind in the garage when my parents bought their house were containers of rotting innards. Don't open jars you find. When's the last time you saw Hills Brothers Coffee?!?
