All about the curling tiles. I almost missed this room and probably wouldn't have stumbled across it without a fairly significant misunderstanding. Cryptic, perhaps, but that's ok.

"Did the turbulences start one week ago?"

I am not sure. But I remember very well the evening of last Thursday.

Every year I like watching the "Perseids" in August, a really nice "star falling event" in warm summer nights.

www.br.de/sternenhimmel/sternschnuppen-meteore-sternenhim...

In radio it was announced that the night from the 12th to the 13th of August would be the important one:

Because in the nightly sky a brilliant opportunity was upcoming for watching countless falling stars.

So I've sent by whatsapp at about 20.45 o'clock a message to Daniel and Jenna. And nearly two hours later, at about 22.30 o'clock "their" headlights appeared in the darkness of the night behind me - sitting in my car in front of the house I am living. Together we drove to "Gut Gieshügel" in the near of Würzburg, a place with a very special atmosphere, I've told you once.

A nibble away we found a possibility for parking our cars - nobody around us, a perfect loneliness without any lights, only some grasshoppers and the summerly noise of cicadas in the perfect warmth of the dark night.

Indeed, a fascinating setting for watching star fallings! "Meditative" and romantic at least in the first moment.

The romance we lost quickly ;-)

Daniel had brought three chairs of his living room and Jenna has brought hot kakao/chocolate. Lina, their dog, was rather nervous because of the unknown situation.

She was anyhow anxious and whining. So Jenna brought her in the car again.

Then we took place in the comfortable chairs and the tranquility of the surrounding unrolled its wonderful effect...

I have to say I enjoy such calm and relaxed moods very much. At least in the night much more than noisy, quick situations.

So in the following 120 minutes Daniel and Jenna saw three really big falling stars and countless little ones, I saw not a single big one, but lots of small ones too. And my neck definitely hurted a lot!

In spite of that we had lots and lots of fun together! :-)

At 01.00 o'clock I was at home again. But not tired. So I surfed in Internet for Georgian queens and kings - very interesting!

At 02.00 o'clock I looked over my balcony and saw a really very fat falling star right in front of me over the neighbour's house, falling straight down from the sky.

First thought: Why not at once?

Second thought: WOW, soooo amazing!!

Quickly I wished my very special wish.

Five minutes later a huge bunny sat on the gateway to the little street under my balcony. I didn't believe my eyes! I am living in the middle of the City and a really huge wild bunny is visiting me in the middle of the night!!

It's true.

( I fear perhaps next a wild boar will come around the corner...

visiting me... :-)

Believe it or not: In a suburb of Würzburg that really happened in the last years! )

The bunny was eating grass under the oak and then hobbled around the corner, supposedly in the garden of the pastor.

Magical happenings...

... so did I promise you too much?

Happily I went to bed 02.45 o'clock.

Okay, that was Thursday evening.

Friday I was tired.

Saturday was like a horror trip. In the morning I've heard the sound of an ambulance while standing in the bath. It seemed as if it has stopped in front of the house. Some minutes later I looked out of the window - and nothing to see!

But then a favorite person in my neighborhood disappeared and I feared something had happened. Still I am not sure what the matter was...

You see: Exciting things happened.

And of "The Dark Twin/Side Of The Moon"

I didn't tell you something at all -

... a very dark "procedure".

So have a good night now.

:-)

I am very tired.

Liverpool was an historic centre of the slave trade from the mid 18th to early 19th centuries.

Many Liverpudlians were prominent in the abolitionist movement and even to day the city still wants to pay tribute to the thousand of souls transported via its port and ships.

In part, it does this through the International Slavery Museum, which ensures that slavery from the 1500s to the present day is not forgotten.

To quote the mission of the museum:

"Our aim is to address ignorance and misunderstanding by looking at the deep and permanent impact of slavery and the slave trade on Africa, South America, the USA, the Caribbean and Western Europe. Thus we will increase our understanding of the world around us."

I use this photo for visualization of the term "requirements communication" or "misunderstanding".

We agreed to count until 3 and then we jump: "We jump at three!".

Everybody of us thought we have uniquely communicated the jumping-"requirement". The result shows us that there was a misunderstanding: We counted all 1, then 2, then two of us jumped *at* 3, one of us jumped immediately *after* we completed to count 1, 2, 3. All three were right - nevertheless the same requirement was understood differently.

The photo was taken at the highest point of all Croatian islands at Vidova Goro in Brac.

Hannes Swoboda, S&D Chairman, Manfred Weber, EPP Vice-Chairman, Rebecca Harms, Greens co-Chairman and Edward McMillan-Scott, ALDE Vice-Chairman debated about the role of the media in time of crisis: How could they bridge the gap of misunderstanding between citizens and EU institutions?

We walked all over this garden without shoes because we did not get the signage.

The silence of the spheres is the music of a wedding feast. The more we persist in misunderstanding the phenomena of life, the more we analyze them out into strange finalities and complex purposes of our own, the more we involve ourselves in sadness, absurdity and despair. But it does not matter much, because no despair of ours can alter the reality of things, or stain the joy of the cosmic dance which is always there.

Even on the foggiest nights.

In 1893, Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu, "a very great genius", as Mircea Eliade called Him, after the suffering provoked by Julia's death, start to build at Campina a castle. Built using the design transmitted by Julia's Spirit, during the spiritist meetings, the small castle is conceived like a temple dedicated to his daugther's memory. It will be Hasdeu's refuge, the man of science will spend there the sadness of his last years, surrounded by the loneliness and by his contemporain's misunderstanding.

The castle, finished in 1896, after Hasdeu's death, will constitute a subject of great talks between who suggested to give it to the Ministry of Public Education, having for end its change in a museum.

Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs hosts the American Documentary Film Festival every April. The 2012 festival had marked the premiere of Andrea Meyerson's documentary, I Stand Corrected, which covered the life and the public gender transition of jazz bassist Jennifer Leitham. And as the winner of the festival, I Stand Corrected was re-screened in October at the same venue.

A Q&A panel on transgender issues preceded the screening of the documentary. Here, Professor Jacob Hale (second from left) of California State University, Northridge, speaks about his experiences; he had publicly transitioned on the job, from female to male, in 1995.

Andrea Meyerson (center) is the only panelist who is not transgender herself; she spoke from her lesbian perspective, discussing misunderstandings lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals often have about transgender people, and vice versa.

Jennifer Leitham is second from the right. The two other panelists are local Coachella Valley residents who have transgender background; in particular, the gentleman on the far right stated that this was the first time he was outing himself in public as a man of transgender experience.

Historical accounts of K K Aziz and Dinkar Joshi seem to confirm this dialogue:

Jinnah Liaqat Dialogue in Ziarat circa 1948 - from Dinkar Joshi’s book ‘Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah - The Man Behind the Curtain (A biographical novel)’ published by Pentagon Press Dehli from Chapter III, Liaquat-Jinnah Dialogue, at Ziarat - Pages # 11 & 12:

“After accepting the position of the Prime Minister, it is my duty to take my Ministerial colleagues and the people of the country into confidence.

“‘Your duty is simply to follow my order. You can accept whatever information Dr. Illahi Baksh gives to you about my health and act accordingly. I do understand why you are so concerned about my health.’

“‘You are misunderstanding, Quaid-e-Azam’, said Liaqat in soft voice.

“‘Perhaps I have misunderstood until now, but now I understand the truth, I am not ignorant of your intention.’

“‘You are unnecessarily getting annoyed, Quaid-e-Azam. Serving the country and its people is my noble intention, Insha Allah.’

“‘The manner in which you are working surrounded by Mullahs and Maulvis, the Pakistan of my dreams cannot be created. My Pakistan can only be modern, not medieval. I have made you the Prime Minister for making Pakistan a modern nation. I feel, my decision was wrong,’ said the Quaid-e-Azam in a loud and angry voice.

“Dr. Illahi Baksh, who sat in front, noticed the excitement in Quaid-e-Azam’s eyes.

“He stood up came close to the bed and said, ‘Sir, now you must take rest, we will take care of the rest’. ‘Mr. Prime Minister. You understand what I am saying’ said the Quaid-e-Azam disregarding the doctor’s advice. ‘I demanded Pakistan in the interest of Hindus and Muslims-living for centuries in this subcontinent. But, the events, of the past one year will lead to permanent suffering of both these communities. You are not moving in the right direction; you are taking Pakistan towards the medieval age to be ruled by the Mullahs and the Maulvis. This is not acceptable to me. Now, enough! I feel like going to Delhi and meeting Jawaharlal to tell that ... ... ...’

“‘Bhaijaan’, Fatima put her palm on the quivering lips and interrupted, ‘Now, you do not say anything ... Your health does not permit you to exert so much,’ and then turning to Liaqat Ali Khan, she said, ‘Prime Minister, I think it would be better if we sit in another room to talk further on this’.

“‘Liaqat looked at Fatima curiously. Nobody could understand what was happening between the two. Liaqat got up with a faint smile. ... ... ...’

Acceder illustrates the communication between the different Chilean authorities during the earthquake and the tsunami that followed. Their decisions are affected by misunderstandings, language barriers, politics, machismo and the fear of committing mistakes. Due to a government change, a week after the catastrophe, the official response to the tsunami also became a political issue between right and left. The video is based on emergency protocols, court reports and newspaper articles. As a guided lecture, it sums up five hours of complex bureaucracy behind the emergency methodology.

Ehi, depravato!!!

Intendevi questo quando mi hai detto che ero la tua bella passera???

He thought it said LUNCH, not LAUNCH! The world has been saved by a simple misunderstanding- and an empty stomach!

Göynüş Vadisi, located in the area known as the Phrygian Valley, is a long and narrow valley surrounded by high cliffs of volcanic tuff. The old name of the valley - Köhnüş - derives from the Turkish word köhnemiş, which means the area damaged by weather conditions. The valley lies at the foot of Mount Türkmen, from the south is restricted by Aslankayalar rocks, from the west - by Türkmen formations, and from the north- Yokhalil outcrop. In the center of the valley rises the hill where there are the ruins of fortress Köhnüş fortress. In Göynüş Valley there are numerous traces left by the Phrygian civilization. Among them, the most impressive are two rock monuments, now called Aslantaş and Yılantaş. The area of Göynüş Valley was first examined by a Scottish archaeologist William Mitchell Ramsay in the years 1884-1887. He identified two monumental tombs and another Phrygian monument called Maltaş. In the mid-twentieth century a Dutch archaeologist, Caroline Henriette Emilie Haspels, conducted another survey of the valley and found many more Phrygian rock monuments, carved in hard to reach areas of Aslankayalar and Akkuş Yuvası massifs. In 1995-1996, two Turkish archaeologists - Taciser Tüfekçi Sivas and Hakan Sivas - discovered two altars of rock, located in Boncuklu Inler Mevkii and near the Maltaş monument. To recapitulate, in Göynüş Valley there is a large number of Phrygian monuments, including 40 tombs, forming the largest Phrygian necropolis known to researchers so far. Additionally, in the valley, one can find rock tombs from the Roman period, and Byzantine churches and chapels carved into the rocks. The oldest Phrygian monuments of Göynüş Valley date back to the period from the eighth to the sixth century BC. Two of the most fascinating Phrygian tombs are located just off the road crossing the valley. The first one is called Aslantaş or i.e. the Lions' Rock. This monument was carved in the northern vertical wall of a cubic rock, about 11 meters high. The façade of the tomb is decorated with reliefs of two mighty lions. The animals are depicted standing upright on their hind legs, as if preparing to jump. Their jaws are open, solidified in a silent roar. Between the silhouettes of the standing lions, there is a square entrance to the tomb. The chamber of this tomb was carved on a rectangular plan and is decorated in a sophisticated way. Below, at the feet of the roaring lions, there are much worse preserved reliefs depicting another two lions in a sitting position. The second great Phrygian tomb is known locally as Yılantaş or the Snakes' Rock. In fact, the monument does not depict any snakes, but lions, and the researchers describe it as Kırık Aslantaş (i.e. the Broken Lions' Rock). The misunderstanding as to the name and the original appearance of the monument is due to its poor condition. Its original façade had been split and then broke up into pieces, spread out on the ground, most likely as a result of an earthquake.

Generally we had lots of warning for meeting situations with big ships. Our AIS identification system gave us the ship's name and we would usually contact them by VHF to minimize any chance of conflict or misunderstanding

There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding regarding this airframe. It is my understanding that this particular P2V-7 is C/N 726-7207, not 726-8013 as often reported. The markings are those of Tanker 08 / N14448, flown by Black Hills Aviation out of Alamogordo, NM, which crashed during the Wynoochee Fire in 1990, killing both crewmembers.

Nakhon Pathom is a small province located just 56 Km's. from Bangkok. The province features an ancient religious structure called Phra Pathom Chedi, the first religious landmark that signified the influx of Buddhism into Thailand. Nakhon Pathom is also renowned for its abundant fruits varieties and famous dishes. Phra Pathommachedi or Phra Pathom Chedi is a Stupa in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. At 120.5 metres ( 395 ft ) it is the second tallest stupa in the world after Jetavanaramaya in Sri Lanka. The Stupa is located in the Wat Phra Pathommachedi Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan a temple in the town centre of Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.

The name Phra Pathommachedi means the first holy stupa, given by king Mongkut. Originally the Stupa named Phra Thom Chedi means the big stupa in ancient Khmer language or the royal stupa in Northern Thai language. One of the common misunderstandings about this stupa is that Phra Pathommachedi is the oldest and the first stupa in Suvarnabhumi, an ancient name of Southeast Asia. Modern Historians believe that the stupa was one of the principal stupas of ancient Nakhon Pathom, the largest settlement of Dvaravati culture in Nakhon Pathom area together with the nearby Phra Prathon Chedi during the 6th to the 8th centuries.

Nakhon Pathom was situated by the sea, the city prospered during the Dvaravati civilisation. According to archaeological findings, Nakhon Pathom was the first city to possess influences of Buddhism and Indian civilisations. From the Phra Pathom Chedi and other remains discovered in the city area, it is believed that the city was a centre of civilisation in that era. People of different races settled in Nakhon Pathom. However, a change in the course of the river caused a draught that forced the people to migrate and settle on the banks of river, and these communities developed into towns. The new town was called Nakhon Chaisi or Sirichai, leaving Nakhon Pathom deserted for hundreds of years until the reign of King Rama IV. While His Majesty was in monk hood, he travelled to Nakhon Pathom and found the Phra Pathom Chedi that he regarded as the largest pagoda of all.

When King Rama IV ascended to the throne, he commanded that a bell shaped Chedi be built to cover the former Chedi. The surrounding area was also renovated and improved. He also commanded that a water canal be dug to ease commuting, which was called Chedi Bucha canal. During the reign of King Rama V, the construction of railways to the south began, at that time Nakhon Pathom was still a heavily forested area. King Rama V also commanded that the town be relocated from Tambon Thana, Amphoe Nakhon Chaisi, to the Phra Pathom Chedi area as it used to be. Nakhon Pathom has been there ever since. During the reign of King Rama VI, a palace was built at Tambon Sanam Chan as a temporary residence on his travels and many roads were constructed. A large bridge was also built over the Chedi Bucha canal, which His Majesty named “Saphan Charoensattha”. Later, he commanded that the name of Nakhon Chaisi be changed to Nakhon Pathom, but the name of the prefecture was still called “Nakhon Chaisi” until the reign of King Rama VII when the calling of the prefecture was ended. Nakhon Chaisi is now one of the districts in Nakhon Pathom.

Nakhon Pathom covers an area of 2,168 square kilometres or 542,081.6 acres. It is divided into seven administrative districts or Amphoe, they are: Amphoe Muang Nakhon Pathom, Amphoe Buddhamonthon, Amphoe Sam Phran, Amphoe Nakhon Chaisi, Amphoe Bang Len, Amphoe Kamphaeng Saen, and Amphoe Don Toom. Most of the areas are plains with no mountainous land, plateau are found in the west east of Amphoe Muang and Amphoe Kamphaeng Saen. The plains along the Tha Cheen River (Nakhon Chaisi River) are the location of Amphoe Nakhon Chaisi, Amphoe Sam Phran, and Amphoe Bang Len. These fertile lands provide agricultural area for people, thus most of the residents earn their living from agriculture; plantations, farming, growing food crops, and fruit orchards. Moreover, Nakhon Pathom is well known for pomelo, some call the Nakhon Pathom the sweet pomelo town.

Sampran Riverside, Km. 32 Pet Kasem Highway, Sampran, Nakhon Pathom 73110, Thailand

About one hour drive from Bangkok is the Rose Garden and Cultural Centre. It is situated at Sampran in the Province of Nakhon Pathum. It is a 70 acre site designed to give you a full day out. There is so much to do here. The Restaurant sits on the lake and the food served here is first class you can eat what you like - until you are full, very good value if you are a big eater. The Rose Garden and restaurant were started over 40 years ago and has now included the Cultural Centre and show, a hotel and other restaurants and a spa. Tourist buses usually arrive around 2.0 pm in time for the Thai Cultural Village show at 2.45 pm.

This attraction is usually taken in along with the Damnoen Saduak Floating market trip which is around 1800 Baht by taxi from Bangkok, but do check first, prices do vary. But the Rose Garden is worth a trip on its own, because there is so much to get involved with during the day. In the mornings you can take part in the Living the Thai Culture, an art and craft activity and cost around 500 Baht per person. These included Dancing / Musical Instruments / Garland Making / Fruit Carving / Bamboo Dancing Rice Farming among others.

The Gardens have many exotic flowers and there are some traditional Thai houses. One is used for weddings and another used for a spa centre. Most people go for the Thai Cultural show, with highlights of Thai Martial Art display, and a Traditional Thai wedding display. There is a cast of about 120 people that take part in this display and it is well attended. It is very colourful and impressive to watch, in all around 40 minutes.

The Lion Sleeps Tonight... first written and recorded by Solomon Linda in 1939, under the title Mbube (Zulu for Lion). The hit song was later recorded by many different artists including the Weavers, who entitled it "Wimoweh"...a misunderstanding of the African/Zulu chorus..."uyimbube" (you are a Lion).

Probably my favorite picture I have taken / If you look in her eye you can see my hands, her front porch, and the street. ^_^

This structure has puzzled me every time I pass it on I-10 where you see the dome and the large opening. So, I have now seen it from the other side. In trying to find out about the church the main theme you come across in a Google search is that some people mistake it for a mosque just because it has a dome. Forget about the fact that there is no minaret or that both Bysantine and Orthodox churches have domed buildings. Or, if you get off of the freeway the original building looks like a pretty common southwestern style Christian church.

Paddles are not only for initiations. It is also used as a form of disciplinary action among fraternity members, or for "exchange paddle" to settle misunderstandings and among close brods during alumni homecomings.

We didn't ever use this system. It requires a credit card with a chip or a Maestro Debit card. Plus we didn't want to end up with a huge bill in Euro's beaciuse of some misunderstanding. But it does look like a good idea.

From Wikipedia:

"Vélib’ (French: vélo libre or vélo liberté, English: free bicycle or bicycle freedom) is a public bicycle rental programme in Paris, France. The initiative was pushed by Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoë from the French Socialist Party. The system was launched on 15 July 2007, following Lyon's Vélo'v success. Ten thousand bicycles were introduced to the city with 750 automated rental stations each with fifteen or more bikes/spaces. This number has since grown to 20,000 bicycles and 1,450 stations, roughly one station every 300 metres throughout the city centre, making Vélib’ the largest system of its kind in the world.

Each Vélib station is equipped with an automatic rental terminal and spots for dozens of bicycles. Maps showing the station locations are available at all kiosks.

The robust gray bicycles were produced by the French bicycle company Mercier, in Hungary.[1] The price per bicycle has been variously stated as $1,300[2], €300[3], or $3,460[4] apiece. They are three-speed bicycles, each weighing 22.5 kilograms, have always-on LED lighting powered by a fronthub dynamo, a locking system and a front bicycle basket.

The rental terminals display the location and numbers of available bicycles and free spots of the neighboring Velib stations. If a user arrives with a rented bicycle at a station without free spots, the terminal grants another fifteen minutes of free rental time. A fleet of twenty bicycle-transporting vehicles are used over night to redistribute bicycles to high-demand stations in time for the next morning.

In order to use the system, users need to take out a subscription, which allows the subscriber an unlimited number of rentals. Subscriptions can be purchased at €1 per day, €5/week or €29/year. With a subscription, bike rental is free for the first half hour of every individual trip; an unlimited number of such free trips can be made per day. A trip that lasts longer than 30 minutes incurs a charge of one to four euros for each subsequent 30-minute period. The increasing price scale is intended to keep the bikes in circulation.

A credit card or Maestro debit card with PIN is required to sign up for the programme and to rent the bikes. The credit/debit card will be charged €150 if a rented bike is not returned. The credit card is required to contain an EMV-chip in most cases[5] (this includes all French cards, most European cards, but as of June 2008[update], few USA credit cards). The sign-up can then be attached to a Navigo pass or a one year card[clarification needed], which allows direct use of the card readers at bikes' attach points; alternatively a numerical identification code can be used at the pay station.

The system is financed by the JCDecaux advertising corporation, in return for the city of Paris signing over the income from a substantial portion of the on-street billboard advertising. JCDecaux won the contract over a rival bid from Clear Channel.[4][clarification needed]

JCDecaux paid start-up costs of about $115 million and employs the equivalent of about 285 people full time to operate the system and repair the bikes for 10 years. The city receives all revenue from the program as well as a fee of about $4.3 million a year. In return, JCDecaux receives exclusive control over 1,628 city-owned billboards; the city receives about half of that billboard space at no charge for public-interest advertising.[2] (Slightly different numbers were reported in July 2008.)[4] This model was first used in France in 1998 by Adshel (now part of Clear Channel) in Rennes.

In the first year, three people have died in accidents on rented bikes; some car drivers complain that riders do not follow all traffic rules.[4]

Occasionally, people will chain a bicycle to its station, so that it will remain available for a subsequent trip; the Velib officials recommend cutting the locks in these cases[citation needed].

At least 3,000 bicycles have been stolen in the first year of operation, many more than had been initially estimated[4]

Some have been stolen and shipped to Eastern Europe and Africa. Others have been vandalized, thrown in the river, and Youtube videos made of the bicycles being vandalized."

Despite the two caring for each other, given their personality and past experiences, I think this totally could have happend at one point of time... or twice... trice...

Even if you are close and know each other, missunderstandings like these happen.

The Dujiangyan Panda Base and Center for Disease Control, operated by the Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Pandas (CCRCGP), occupies a semi-natural hillside location near Shiqiao Village, Qingchengshan in Dujiangyan county, near the Taoist holy mountain of Qīngchéngshān and 18 km from central Dujiangyan city.

A more visitor-friendly name is 'Dujiangyan Giant Panda Base'; it also seems to be known as 'Dujiangyan Panda Ark'.

The 51 ha centre (or is that just the visitor-accessible part?) has a specific focus on panda disease control, prevention and research. As such, the 'nursing home' works with sick or injured wild pandas and elderly or disabled captive pandas.

It also acts as quarantine for pandas leaving or entering China; if you've seen giant pandas anywhere else in the world, they either visited or will visit Dujiangyan Panda Base at some point, as the foreign-born cubs of Chinese-loaned pandas (i.e. all of them!) contractually must be returned to China and the breeding programme.

This doesn't mean that all the residents are ill or otherwise disabled – I wasn't aware of seeing any in such a condition. Many are entirely healthy, as the CCRCGP's disease-prevention initiative involves separating captive populations, containing any outbreaks to individual bases, and veterinary research also needs to study healthy individuals.

The world-famous Chengdu Panda Base (Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, CRBGPB) also has a Field Research Center in Dujiangyan county, seemingly known as Dujiangyan Panda Valley, where pandas are gradually reintroduced to the wild. To avoid misunderstanding: this isn't it.
