I hired a minidigger this weekend so that we could destroy some cornish hedging and dig a hole to fill with concrete for the caravan base.

This is about 30 seconds away from my front door, on my route to work. It's not exactly challenging, but it's part of the web of off road routes and green spaces which I use as often as I can as an alternative to the road. This isn't because I feel safer away from the traffic, and it's certainly not quicker, but I really value the peace and quiet, wildlife and landscape of these largely ignored little (sub) urban spaces.
This morning there's a minidigger working on the trail on the left hand side, 'improving' it to a six foot wide, crushed stone surface sanitised motorway of a thing.

Mini-digger with a freaky effect. This is basically a hand-held shot with some serious camera shake. The interesting swirls are caused by the lens's image stabilisation completely failing to help.
It was excellent fun, if slightly hard on the brain at first. Unfortunately I had to relinquish the seat to CB as I'm just a bit too slow and we've only got the digger for the weekend.
