Miniature macarons in the plastic box in the background. I've been fascinated by them since I read about miniatures on Carol's blog (Paris Breakfasts).
These are like pieces from different sets (Let's Cook/Cooking, Tea Time Tableware & Mother's Kitchen, I think).
Now that I see the nested bowls in macro, I realize they're not the same Pyrex "Amish" design, but can be matched just the same ;p

Sycamore leaf. Backlit with crossed polarized lighting. Main light source: LED screen. Camera accessories: Circular polarising filter; miniature tripod. I think it is remarkable for the range of colours expressed in a single leaf.

The underside of their tail has adhesive lamellae, allowing it to act like a fifth limb for climbing.When threatened, they can drop their tail to escape predators. The tail regrows, but temporarily affects their climbing ability due to loss of balance and adhesion.
This year I was assigned to host our doll club meeting for September. I prepared these handmade gifts to give away to the other 7 members of the club. I had to make them when my baby took her nap during the day or late at night when she’s in bed. For a whole month, I scanned, took pics, photoshopped, prototyped, printed and assembled these paper miniatures. I only made the ones you see in the pictures, and had our club members make the doll boxes as a craft project for the meeting. All effort was worth it seeing how ecstatic our club members were upon seeing their gifts.
I got the idea from Rogier Corbeau’s work during the Barbie Convention. He created this really awesome store diorama for the silent auction which sold for $3,400! Thanks to Jim Taylor too for posting his work on facebook for me to oogle at.
The shelves were made by etsy seller Mihail.
*I do not have plans of selling these as I don't want to get in trouble with mattel, but once I find the time, I am considering uploading some of the graphics so you can make them yourselves.
The kitchen wagon fits perfectly in the lot reserved for the chair in the counter, if you tilt it's wheels the other way.

I guess I have a thing for early American writing desks! I made the one on the far left years ago and could not resist the other 2 vintage desks. I added all of the accessories the past 2 days. I modified store bought books, made some of my own books, cut stacks of writing paper, made ink wells from feathers and beads, made a few envelopes, and rolled paper and tied the rolls with thread. I used ecru resume paper so it would look a little more like parchment.
Each desk has a place in my dollhouse - one on each floor, but they photographed much better in the natural light by the window.
This scrapbook paper is new from AC Moore. I bought all of it - 20 sheets! I had hoped to wall paper my log cabin with it, but it will only really work as the floor. I'm keeping it for future dollhouse dreams. I still have a huge dollhouse kit to build.
I just want to craft until my heart is content for my last few days of summer. This desk project has been in my head for over a year. So good to get it out!
Note: That one book in the tall cabinet with the white stripes was bugging me after photographing it, so I recovered it in black textured paper.
