Oasys is the new name for the Mini-Hollywood theme-park and is located on the Tabernas desert, Europe's only desert.
Mini-Hollywood, the longest established of three theme parks existing in the area. The other two, Western Leone and Texas Hollywood, are still working locations, at least some of the time, but Mini-Hollywood is now entirely given over to the theme-park business. Its heart is a Wild-West set, what one critic calls "your standard Spaghetti-Western town." And most of it is deliciously, authentically false - real, phoney buildings that were actually used in films.
Some of the movies that were shot here are legendary: Sergio Leone's 'Dollars' trilogy ('A Fistful of Dollars', 'For a Few Dollars More' and 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly') starring Clint Eastwood as the Man with No Name, 'Django' with Franco Nero, the sequels to which never seemed to end... over a hundred titles were at least partially filmed in these dusty streets. AlmerÃa was also used as a location for other film genres after the sixties (Patton, The Wind and the Lion, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade...) but it was the spaghetti-western that really defined the relationship between the province and the film industry.
Mini Addy is an American Girl mini doll. She was in my second order of mini dolls from Amazon. I have all 14 of them now. It's my goal to make copies of the meet accessories that you can buy for the full size historical American Girls. I also want to make copies of as many of the 18" American Girl historical dolls' outfits as I can. I've been looking at these outfits in catalogs or online for so long that I almost have them memorized. Finding the right fabrics is the hardest part. I made Mini Addy's meet bonnet from an old straw hat of my husband's.
This mini quilt measures 16" x 19". Each foundation pieced block is 2" x 2". It was challenging, but not as much as I thought it would be when I first saw it. This wall hanging was designed by Anne Sommerlad.

As you can see I have a little problem with the painted wheel-arches ;)
Although my visits to this area are not that frequent, I think from both my own experience and other pictures that this is an unusual occurrence - MPD 1629 in Camberley to work a 34 to Guildford.
The usual DAFs were also sharing the route today with a Volvo and a Pegasus Dart.
