A shot with my new canon lens 1.8 ef 50 mm, the "plastic fantastic".
Now you can either drive a regular mini (like in the other pics. Or you can cut the roof off , wear helmets , not be able to hear a thing anyone says and drive this. The choice is yours!!!!? There is even a mini sized outrider to keep it company!
Mini soft plastic pterodactyl skeleton figure. I think I got it as either a vending machine or arcade prize. Probably early-mid 1990s.
My favourite limited edition Mini, in the nicer of the two colour options, and a real special rather than a sticker and a sunroof on a base car. Sadly this one is very unoriginal, the roof should be tan, the wheels are wrong-the original alloys were lovely, the arch extentions are too big, the list goes on, but at least it's still here..
Well yesterday (January 15th, 2011) my wife and I picked up our Black Mini Cooper Countryman with Black/Anthracite wheels. We drove 220 miles from Dallas, Texas to Edmond Oklahoma to pick it up. Liking it a lot so far. Its pretty well equipped...Automatic Transmission, Heated Seats, Heated and Foldable Mirrors, Harmon-Kardon Sound system, Dual Sunroofs, Sport Suspension, Blue Tooth, just to name a few of the options.
I went out this morning and took a few photos. The weather was rainy, but I managed to get some decent shots anyway.
The new Mini was premiered at the Paris Motor Show in September 2000, while the last model of the classic Mini came off the Longbridge production line October 2000. As one era came to an end, another was ushered in under the direction of the BMW Group : launched on the market in 2001, the new Mini perfectly matched the urban lifestyle. Mini goes further than virtually any other brand in capturing the spirit of the modern age and the essence of 21st-century lifestyle.

Introduced in 2002 as a completely new design, the BMW MINI Cooper is a throwback to its ancestor of the same name, mimicking its appearance and performance. Whilst the car has been criticized for its poor space-efficiency compared with the original Mini (despite its significantly larger size), its faithfulness to the original's razor sharp handling characteristics and its unique styling has seen the BMW MINI become a sales success in Europe and (since its introduction in 2002) in the U.S.
BMW has received a significant backlog of orders throughout the life of the car and the Cowley factory is working at its full capacity of around 100,000 cars per year; all of this with little conventional advertising.
Mini Claudie isn't quite sure what she's supposed to do with a top hat, but AG gave one to Claudie, so she's happy to have it.
Day 2/30
As soon as the second half of 2014 MINIs will once again be made in the Netherlands. To mark the occasion BMW is sponsoring the restoration of a 1959 Mini originally assembled at Molenaar’s Car Factory in Amersfoort, Holland. We’ll be talking more about MINI’s production plans and how they will be tweaked for the introduction of the 3rd generation later this year.
Today VDL Nedcar employees finished the restoration of one of the first Dutch Minis. This classic Mini – one of the oldest Minis in the world – was assembled in 1959 at Molenaar’s Car Factory in Amersfoort, Holland and is now being completely rebuilt by a team of five VDL Nedcar employees.
They were selected from the pool of 1,500 VDL Nedcar employees who will be involved in the future production of MINI at VDL Nedcar in Born. The plant is currently in preparation for MINI contract manufacturing starting in the second half of 2014. It makes MINI the only car brand that will be in series production in the Netherlands.
MINI built in the Netherlands.
For the second time in history this British icon will be produced in the Netherlands. From its year of introduction (1959) up until 1966 the importer J.J. Molenaar’s Car Companies in Amersfoort assembled over 4,000 Minis. BMW Group Netherlands initiated a search for one such Mini built in the Netherlands.
Having found this Classic Mini, VDL Nedcar reacted enthusiastically and put together the restoration team, made up of a bodywork builder, a welder, a painter, an engine specialist and a project manager.
After the start of the MINI production in Born this oldest of Dutch Minis can be seen at VDL Nedcar. The Mini – officially recognized by the international 1959 Mini Register – will then be put in a prominent place in the Dutch factory as a token of the 1,500 employees’ pride.
