View of my Minecraft McDonald's and Minecraft Burger King. Someone else created that M! sign. Also made the Apple logo in the back.
I modified the texture a bit, to make the differences more apparent.
I love this thing, if you've ever read Terry Pratchet, you'll probably know why. :P
Quite compact...and quite unfinished. Currently sporting only one sorting machine (which will not suffice) powered by two thermopiles feeding into a BatBox. I was originally worried the thermopiles might not be enough but it suffices for now. I haven't actually set up a automatic factory with quarry feed, so I haven't tested this system on full workload.
Oh, and through the magic that is RedPower Energy transmission (with every block ancting as a cable) the accelerator behind the sorter is powered from the same BatBox.
Had an amazing tour of Jo Kay's latest build and chatted with her and Dean Groom about what they're doing with Minecraft, kids and learning.
While I haven't been grabbed by the Minecraft bug (I like my virtual worlds prettier and more realistic), I am in awe of what the kids are doing and what Jo has built and what Dean is building around it in terms of pedagogy. The kids are learning planning, building, creativity, citizenship, ethics, communication, cooperation and scripting -- it's pretty impressive.

Day of morris dancing at Snape Maltings followed by a visit to Sutton Hoo ends with a bit of team minecrafting.
the open nature of minecraft allows you to create your own stories and narrative where weird and unpredictable stuff happens all the time and it’s these little moments that make the game so much fun. this is a comic based on the other day i was playing where wolves were coming into the house and jumping into the fireplace for some reason…
My 10 year old granddaughter spent the day yesterday, and when she found out I needed to take a picture of something black, she wanted me to use her Minecraft figures. All I know about Minecraft is that it’s a very popular computer game where you build things out of squares. So I got out some of my props, she arranged a scene, and I took the picture. I ended up using something else for black yesterday, as we also played with puppies.

This is a model of a house I used to live in during my studies together with four flatmates. I tried to make the model as accurate as possible in Minecraft, which was difficult due to the weird trapezoid shape of the building. Its meant as a surprise present for one of my flatmates, so psssst, don't tell her yet. ;)
The model was exported with the free tool Mineways, and printed on a Zprinter 650 color 3d printer.
