But the ground didn't disappoint...

Contrast of autumn tones offered by the beach of La Arnía at this time of year. I did not waste the opportunity to capture this color palette that I like so much.

I know that it will become my favorite pilgrimage place in my stay in Santander, for its beauty and the different faces that I am sure it will show me throughout the seasons.

I had such an amazing walk in the snow. Fresh, cold and simply beautiful.

23/23 The papers I have added to this journal, such as the notecards in the semi-transparent envelope, the notebook "The joy of one thing at a time", the inspirational cards, the envelope with the stickers, and the 30-day notebook - these all come from a book I bought a while back, called "A Book That Takes It's Time". It's an absolutely gorgeous book of mindfullness, and I decided to take some of it's contents and add it to this new journal instead. I'm not sure whether "junk journal" is the right term or not... I haven't decided yet. But I'm sure I'll give this journal a proper name later. I also think I might use this as my travel journal when I go to Italy in mid September... unless I have time to make a travel journal specifically for that trip :)

Way harder than it sounds. There are so many voices in the mind: anger, sadness, dreams, worries, doubts, regrets, fantasies. How to find peace? How to find control?

Step back: mindfullness.

Observe those thoughts as they come and go. Analyse them.

And look at that- just momentarily, fleetingly, you were outside your own mind, looking in. Not participating, not arguing, just looking. Calm.

Practice. Repeat. This muscle is weak, it needs training. Practice. Repeat. Observe. Breathe.

(Now stop procrastinating and get back to finishing that Forestmen fortress you little twerp!)

Oh my !! Due to procedural and scheduling issues the Easter Kitty Bunny (aka Cat Rabbit) did not show up until late Easter Night. The poor thing was tired from the long day of Easter Festivities in so many locations, it was all we could ask to have it pose with me for a very fast photo op. A group of portraits of my encounters with Easter Bunny Kitties over the years is in the dedicated set/album.

photo by Liz H. with many thanks without whose mindfullness the Easter Visit would have not happened at all.

My treasure these days is slowing down after years of working hard and being involved in too many projects, almost leading to a burn out condition.

Taking a step back from the work of this group was only one of the many decisions I took in order to find myself back, come to peace with myself and starting to reorganize my life,

and most of all : enjoying the simple things again, connecting to myself and some dear family and friends in a different way, taking up less work but doing the things more thoroughly and thoughtfully.

With a little help of mindfullness, job coaching, reading, relaxing, photography etc it will all work out fine.

Thanks to all the compliments I read from others to lead this group the last couple of years and many thanx to all who were willing to take over.
