In December we had dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Millbrae near the San Francisco International Airport. As customary in Hong Kong, guests like to meet in the restaurant ahead of time to play Mahjong, a four-player tile-based game.
I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photo from a JPG exposure, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Safeway store located at 525 El Camino Real in Millbrae,CA. This store which opened on April 11th 1962 was one of four stores to feature mosaic scenes put together by muralist John Garth. This store underwent a remodel in the early 1990's which included an updated facade, all the while the mosaic masterpieces were left untouched. Hopefully Safeway will not remove them for any potential expansions or future remodels...

Elliot wanted to go watch planes land on his birthday so we weathered the blistering heat over to Bayfront Park in Millbrae. Fortunately for me, the tide was just going out and there were lots of shorebirds. The lighting was terrible for this time of day but a cute Semipalmated Plover decided to take a bath in front of me with this fun pose. Luckily, we had some shade.
