My great great great Aunt Emily, she was the midwife in Sale Cheshire England. She had a tricycle,and cycled to the homes of the new mothers. Her duties were to care for the mothers & babies and also take in their washing. (Hard times)

The event raised $115,000 for safe, personalized reproductive care for individuals and families.

Second wasted midwife appt. Had to rebook as last time was only booked standard short appt with stand-in mw so came back today for booking-in with actual MW. Except she was on holiday. How do these receptionists keep their jobs?
We did discuss consultant-led birth. Midwife-led & home birth weren't mentioned. I did ask about birthing centre; she said to ask consultant.
Had to laugh - she asked if I had Yvonne last time (MW who's on hols). I said "No, I had A, and I'm so glad she's gone as she was awful". She said "She's not gone, she's our manager now". Ooops! Well, she was really unreliable & often didn't turn up to my appts or was an hour late if she did come. She did come & find me in hospital & apologise for missing the last appt when it turned out I had pre-eclampsia.
