It was a rainy midsummer but I managed to get this photoshoot of Samelia doing some midsummer magic and lighting a bonfire. Sun even started shining after 10pm which was nice.

Canon T90, Tokina AT-X 100-300mm F4.0, negative ISO 400 expired, exposed as ISO 200, developed normally.

A bit of Shakespeare under the Westway. An immersive Midsummer Night's Dream in the little known Blossom Dale Gardens. With music, slushies and candy floss. Great fun

On Saturday 23rd June 2012 it was Chesters yearly "Midsummer Watch Parade".
Chester's Midsummer Watch is one of Britain's oldest festivals - a tradition reflecting 500 years of the city's history. They rely on the continued support and involvement of local people to keep this exciting Parade alive, as a major mid-summer spectacle. For more information about the parade see the web site here:

I was inspired by "A Midsummer Night's Dream", absolutely loved the movie.I might try some more outdoors when I get a little bit of free time.
I found those lovely beads in John lewis and I also got some veils, this time some tough ones. In particular the one in bordeaux colour that I've wanted to try out for a while now.
I've got another shoot planned, which is a bit more dynamic. You'll see in time.
I used green and gold eyeshadow ontop a white eye base. I then experimented with glitter all around the face, a little bit in my hair too, which gave it that sparkly effect. I use glassy zirconies to stick on the sides of my eyes. Puffed the hair and french twisted the bangs ( which isn't very noticable) I'm trying to work on those puffy hairstyles... lol

An old tradition around Baltic Sea countries, like Finland, is to burn bonfires on the Midsummer's eve at the end of June. The original purpose of these bonfires was to scare away demons but nowadays it serves as a gathering of friends and family.
