I've been playing with this for hours and have just been told that the earlier version was better, so if I can remember what it was like you may yet see another in this series.

Fritz Lang erweckte 1927 in Metropolis die erste Roboterfrau „Maria“ zum Leben. Maria: ein „Maschinenmensch“; ein stählern, glänzender Roboter mit weiblichen Geschlechtsmerkmalen, also nicht nur Roboter sondern auch Androide. Androide: aus dem Griechischen, künstlicher Mensch, menschenähnliche Maschine.

Metropolis isthe city of Mother Goddess. The ancient city, dedicated to the Mother Goddess, lies along the old road from İzmir to Ephesus (west of Torbalı). There are remains of Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods. It was a city of agriculture and trade and also a religious center.

The sensation of viscose sheets on naked flesh
Soft and warm
But lonesome in the blackened ocean of night
Confined in the helpless safety of desires and dreams
We fight our insignificance
The harder we fight
The higher the wall
Outside the cancerous city spreads
Like an illness
It's symptoms
In cars that cruise to inevitable destinations
Tailed by the silent spotlights
Of society created paranoia
No alternative could grow
Where love cannot take root
No shadows will replace
The warmth of your contact
Love is dead in metropolis
All contact through glove or partition

This was taken from the Tokyo Sky Tree tower. This is the world's tallest tower at 634 metres and gives fantastic views over the mind-bogglingly vast city of Tokyo. Its initial purpose was as a television and radio broadcast site but it's now a very popular tourist attraction. On a clear day there are spectacular views of Mount Fuji (EM120308)
