Not far from the Postojna Cave there is also Predjama Castle and we visited it too :)

Predjama Castle is a Renaissance castle built under a vertical rock over a hundred meters high, within a cave mouth in south-central Slovenia, in the historical region of Inner Carniola. It is located in the village of Predjama and the largest cave castle in the world. The castle was originally built into a large cave in the 12th century, covering its entrance. Its traces are visible deep inside the cave and they are part of the some castle rooms. Later - around 1570 - the castle was expanded to its current form. The parts of the cave used by the castle are connected to an extensive system of cave corridors, most of which are located below the castle. In times of threat from external invasions, the local population took refuge there with their property and livestock. The cave under the castle was created as a result of the waters of the Lokva River flowing towards the Adriatic Sea and it's the home of a colony of bats. Part of the cave is "dead", which means that no further karst phenomena are progressing in it, which is the result of human activity - the use of these parts of the cave for residential and storage purposes, as well as the digging of passages, tunnels, shafts and adits between them. Currently, the castle, together with a several hundred-meter section of the cave, is open to tourists and can be visited with a guide.

Adelpha butterflies are colloquially known as 'Sisters'. In terms of appearance they are reminiscent of the White Admirals ( Limenitis ) of Eurasia, and share with them a fondness for flitting gracefully around the lower branches of trees in the dappled sunlight of the forest.

There are 85 known species of Adelpha, all except two of which are confined to Central and South America. The butterflies are characterised by having a distinctive blackish marbled pattern overlaid on a brown ground colour; and by the presence of a broad orange or white band on the forewings. The hindwings of most species have a white median band.

Adelpha leucophthalma occurs as 3 subspecies distributed variously from Nicaragua to Ecuador.

This is a cloudforest species, found at elevations between about 800-1700m.

I had joined up with a group of photographers to take a walking tour of downtown Houston Texas, to take advantage of the lack of traffic. Makes it easier to take photos while standing in the street! Photo was taken with a Canon EOS 80D, with a EF-S 18-135 lens. Post-processing was done using Canon Digital Photo Professional 4.

A wide red sandstone bridge over the Spree with a length of 75.0 metres, it was inaugurated in 1886. The bridge connects the main railway station and the Kanzleramt area. The bridge has three water openings and two shopping streets which are now a place of recreation.

Among other things, the bridge is adorned with sculptures referring to the namesake "Field Marshal von Moltke". The bridge was badly damaged during the Second World War and many of the bronze figures were melted down. It was provisionally restored in 1947. In the run-up to Berlin's 750th anniversary celebrations, it was completely renovated and restored with financial support from the federal government.

I wish you a peaceful Easter and thank you for your visit, dear friends.

I no longer use my light meter now that I've swapped to digital and shoot with strobes most of the time. It still hangs on my tripod though, and I've forgotten how to use it. But sometimes, if I need to think while shooting someone, I'll hold out the light meter and act as though I'm metering light. I twist a few dials and mutter to myself as I think. It looks very professional and impressive.

Everyone knows to properly take care of your unicorn you must feed it snacks between every 2hour period.

Lack of snacks will render the unicorn immobile and unwilling to provide magical rainbow farts which will cause a lack of rainbow methane in the atmosphere. Crops will die and people will starve.

Be sure to feed your unicorn, murderer!

At 314 meters (1,030 feet) tall and with spectacular, pixelated architecture, the MahaNakhon is the second tallest building in Thailand and the most distinctive building in Bangkok. Shown are the top twenty of seventy-eight floors. The rooftop is an observation deck and the slab that is cantilevered out is a glass floor.

It is a large 17th-century chapel in Quito, Ecuador. It is adjacent to, and attached to, the 16th-century Quito Cathedral, but is generally accessed separately. It is located in the historic center of the city, on Calle Garcia Moreno (formerly De las Siete Cruces), a few meters from the corner of Calle Eugenio Espejo. It is a part of the whole of the Cathedral complex, although it seems more an independent church than an attached chapel, both due to its size and to its importance in the Quiteño imagination.

Work on the foundation began in 1617 and the structure was built on a series of arches which overtopped and closed off the old Gorge of Zanguna (Quebrada de Sanguña or Zanguña). The façade was completed in 1706 and the remainder of the building in 1715. Between 1731 and 1747 the altarpieces of the interior were emplaced.

In El Sagrario is the mausoleum dedicated to Marshal Antonio José de Sucre, hero of Ecuadorian and Latin American independence, who had requested to be interred in his beloved Quito. (The urn containing his remains is carved from dark Pichincha andesite and all around are arranged the flags of all the countries whose freedom he secured. Here too Luis Mideros has highlighted the historical facts of the "Hero of Pichincha" in murals.)

The most important work of art in El Sagrario is the sculpture ensemble known as La Sábana Santa ("The Holy Shroud") by Manuel Chili (Caspicara), which is in the retrochoir.

Even though the world is suffering for COVID and in Switzerland the situation is not very favorable. Somehow; the mountains are still accessible. When it comes to COVID; mountains are probably the safest places as in vast majority of them; you will mostly find yourself alone or with number of people good enough to keep at least 50 meters of social distancing.

Sure, you have to work a bit for that. If you take a cozy cable car; things are not the same. But if you go up walking; you can very much have the path as your backyard.

With several of my trip cancelled; this year I concentrated more in exploring Switzerland. One of my Swiss colleague told me that for the people leaving in Switzerland; exploring Switzerland in holiday is not considered as the exotic holiday to be proud of.

In fact I also realized that in past few years; I was mostly outside Switzerland in holidays. Even thought I used to go out most of the good weather weekends on the mountains.

This year; I found those mountains are probably the safest place to go. So I have explored many locations in Switzerland that are exceptionally beautiful and very much isolated if planned well.

This is one of those places. It snowed heavily few days back. So the mountains are still capped with snow with the last bit of autumn color still remaining.

This is a small lake just above the famous St Moritz. But this is off limit for cars. So I went out early in the dark. Well; I could have probably go 30 minutes later. But I have bad habit of reaching photo locations well in advance. So that I have enough time to setup, grab the right composition before someone else takes it and I am not that fast in setting up. So it is important for me to take the time in a calm way to achieve the best result.

So by habit, I looked around and setup the tripod low and started waiting for the light. The other side started becoming dark orange and the panic started. Am I at the wrong side of the lake? Shall I just run and get to the other side? Even though I like this composition way better; the sky may not be that attractive. At the end I decided not to rush and waited patiently. Some time later the color started coming on this side as well. Time to shoot. The water was calm, the sky was amazing, the tree colors started popping with the increase of light. What else do you want. Got the Nikon at work.

The color stayed max for 3 to 5 minutes before the sky went back to a bit greyish. I also did some video; but being a photographer, the best time is dedicated for photos. So the video off course doesn't have the same color; but was good enough to experience the environment.

Click here to see the short film documenting the beauty of the region as I have experienced it. Please have a look and you may like it.

Stay safe, comply with the authority strictly, stay at home, stop the chain of the virus.

Take care and help the society to recover from the crisis.

Have a nice weekend.

Hope you will enjoy the picture.

An ammeter is also called a current meter. It is an instrument for measuring electric current. The force of current becomes powerful in amperes, thus giving rise to the name ammeter.

Nowadays, ammeters are used, which are essentially voltmeters with a low ohm resistance across the encounter.
