The Chapel of the Holy Cross is a Roman Catholic chapel built into the red-rock buttes of Sedona, Arizona. It was commissioned by sculptor Marguerite Brunswig Staude, who is said to have drawn her inspiration in 1932 from the newly constructed Empire State Building, on which a cross seemed to her to be superimposed.
The Chapel was completed in 1956 at a construction cost of $300,000. In 2007, Arizonans voted the Chapel to be one of the Seven Man-Made Wonders of Arizona. It is also said to be the site of one of the so-called Sedona vortices, where some believe that heightened spiritual and metaphysical energy can be found.

Merton distinguishes two aspects of wisdom: . . . metaphysical and speculative, an apprehension of the radical structure of human life, an intellectual appreciation of man in his human potentialities and in their fruition. . . . moral, practical, and religious, an awareness of man’s life as a task to be undertaken at great risk, in which tragic failure and creative transcendence are both possible . . . a peculiar understanding of conflict, of the drama of human existence, and especially of the typical causes and signs of moral disaster . . . beyond the conscious and systematic moral principles which may be embodied in an ethical doctrine and which guide our conscious activity. Wisdom also supposes a certain intuitive grasp of unconscious motivations, at least insofar as these are embodied in archetypes and symbolic configurations of the psyche.

Some people can subconsciously prevent you from becoming your best self.
Everything you do in this life- where you go, what you say, what you do and who you do it with is the result of your thoughts.
A big reason people fight is because people identify with their thoughts. When we were growing up, most of us believed that thoughts come from the inside. We thought that they were innately a part of us and that we *are* our thoughts. We started building our whole identities around our own little internal monologues.
And the bigger the idea, the more of your identity it represents. This is why politics and religion are such hotly debated topics, because they're such big ideas. If I say your political idea is a bad idea, and you base your identity on that idea, then effectively what you're hearing is that I'm calling you a bad person. You think that I'm attacking you, not the idea.
Something that might be even more common is that people just straight up attack the individual as a proxy for attacking that person's idea.
Somewhere along the way, a few people started realizing they had it all wrong.
In practice, a much better way to think about it is that the universe has an infinite number of streams of thoughts, so to speak, that our brains can kind of tap into like different radio stations. With this analogy, we no longer have to view ourselves as a series of thoughts but rather as an empty vessel by which thoughts pass through. Now we're like the DJ of a radio station, not the individual song. The self is merely an observer. It was this distinction that sparked one of the most famous philosophical debates of all time, which is, I think therefore I am versus I *do* therefore I am.
Spolier alert, you should pick the latter.
In this analogy, the self is determined by our ability to pick and choose different ideas from different streams of thoughts and combine them to form new ideas. Sort of like picking ingredients to make a sandwich.
This is different from the first paradigm, in which we would just take everything from the same stream and hope that the sandwich turns out good anyways.
Therapists know that this works, that's why when people come in complaining about depression, they're told to use the term "negative intrusive thoughts".
The idea is actually pretty simple. If you don't take ownership of the idea and instead you assign a label to it, then you can categorize it as something that life just happened to send your way but something that you're also allowed to throw away. You don't have to hold on to it because it's not actually a part of you. It's just a shitty song on the radio station.
So how does this all relate to other people holding you back?

An image was placed on the walls of Tibetan monasteries thousands of years ago called the Bhavachakra, translated as The Wheel of Life, or The Wheel of Existence.
An image, a form of mandala, a portal to psychological and metaphysical truths about our mind, our behavior, our existence in our reality and beyond.
Although an overwhelming visual spectacle at first, if we want to start the discovery somewhere, we can look at the very center of the Bhavachakra, right at the core there is a circle. And inside that circle we can observe three animals: a pig, a rooster and a snake, all chasing each other, forming a circle themselves.
In his early teachings, Buddha identified “three poisons,” or three fires, or three negative qualities of the mind that cause most of our problems—and most of the problems in the world.
The three poisons are Ignorance, Greed and Hatred.
Inside the Bhavachakra image, ignorance represented by the pig, greed as the rooster and hatred is shown in the form of a snake, and by them biting into each others tale they keep all the wheels turning like an unstoppable force, like an engine behind all things.
We don’t need to look far to see these three poisons at work. We see them every day in the news and in the streets, and if we pay attention, we can see them in our own mind and actions. The arising of these feelings may be outside our control—we don’t choose to be angry, for instance. But recognizing how greed, hatred, and ignorance cause tremendous harm in the world can help us learn to manage them.
Although this teaching may appear negative, a wise understanding of the three poisons is ultimately positive and empowering. With this understanding we can clearly see and feel the factors that are causing confusion, unhappiness, and suffering in our lives. And with this clarity and insight, we can make the choice to eliminate those factors.
The three poisons are opposed by three wholesome, or positive attitudes essential to liberation: generosity (dana), lovingkindness (metta), and wisdom (prajna).
This is metaphysical squirrel. You may not know this, but squirrels are extremely playful with metaphysics, puzzling humans with thought games just as surely as they puzzle dogs with tree games.
Metaphysical squirrel posited basically three arguments to me on this occasion:
1) I was only dreaming and he did not really exist.
2) He was just a part of the tree that I thought was a squirrel. All things are one. There is no separateness between trees and squirrels. Any distinction is a purely human construct.
3) All of what we perceive as reality is just a holographic projection from a two-dimensional plane of pure information.
I said to him, how ironic then that I have reduced this holographic illusion to a two dimensional plane of assorted pixels, derived mathematically from a set of pure data in a two-dimensional plane.
The kids and I were talking metaphysics and look who showed up. A barred owl flew into our view at 3pm. Owls aren't usually flying around mid-day. And of course, I had to run out and get a photo.

There is a sentence in Aristotle’s Metaphysics that says, “God moves the world as the beloved moves the lover.” This is also the meaning of learning, to be moved by that which is of the Spirit, to find joy in the existence of the Spirit, to love the Spirit. In the language of the Bible, the Hebrew word yada ידע, which refers to the concept of knowledge, is also used to mean both knowledge and the act of love. Yada ידע means not only knowledge through reason, but the most intimate interaction with things. It means knowing things lovingly.

Sabbioneta, created in the second half of the 16th century under the rule of one person, Vespasiano Gonzaga Colonna, can be described as a single-period city and has a right angle grid layout.

Buenos Aires, Argentina
Buttermilk Falls, is a roughly 60 foot, 3 tier waterfall that is a hidden gem in Terryville Connecticut that is part of Mattatuck Nature Trail.
So again, I swear this place had to be a sacred place to Native Americans and I always see faces in the rocks at these falls, this time I see a Gorilla face in the stone at the bottom right side of this section of the waterfall. Are these rock spirits from the Native American legends that guard the falls and protect this area? Except I don't think there have ever been gorillas in Connecticut. LOL So then maybe it is a neanderthal. haha
I see the large eye sockets, a defined ear, and a big scowl. The rock spirits are not a happy bunch at these falls LOL
I think there is a dragon or alligator on the bottom right corner but darn I chopped part of that off because I missed that when I took the shot. ;-)
I had to balance the camera on a rock because my tripod broke when I first arrived here but I do like perspectives that are not easy to get to with a tripod. So nature helped me out with that. :D
