This little fungus, found while botanizing Janel Butler and family's acreage near Millarville (south of the city), was so pretty. Very much past its prime (LOL), but it had a beautiful metallic look about it.
ROUBEI DA THAYLANE kkkk
beijos

A Metallic Starling being kept very busy feeding its hungry offspring! These incredible birds migrate from New Guinea to Far North Queensland each year for the wet season to breed. They construct these incredible communal nests in specific trees, with some locations housing hundreds of nests all together in the same tree!

I found these in a little gift shop whilst we were on our houseboat trip. The were beautifully made and only a few dollars - (I think you call the cutting out tool a "nibbler"). I may have a go at this metal cutting one day. The grand daughters ended up with one each.
I used Picmonkey for the frame and textured background.
This ring is made with seriously soft genuine leather with a metallic finishing, but I can also make this design in the color and leather of your choice, just convo me!
If you have any questions, feel more than free to ask, I'll be glad to help you out.

I'd thought about an image like this for a while as I wanted to try & illustrate the scale, engineering skill & complex social behaviour of these amazing Metallic Starling.
This particular colony, which spans two large trees & contains dozens of nests, is situated at a popular recreation park beside a busy highway. This tree has a concrete path right below the outer branches with walkers, joggers & cyclists frequently passing by, within inches of the nests. The birds are almost oblivious to human activity, except when the occasional dog walker passes by, when the birds will be alert & watchful.
The colony is a constant hive of activity; from nest building, maintenance & sometimes destruction & theft, to frequent feeding runs to keep their insatiable chicks well-fed on a diet of small fruits & insects of all description. The chatter & squabbling is almost constant, except at the sign of a potential threat, such as a dog or goshawk, when the birds will simultaneously & speedily leave the nests & flock to a nearby staging tree in silence. Once they've assessed the threat has passed, & after a few trailblazers have returned to the nests, the whole flock will return & go about their business once more.
Metallic Starlings are a migratory species, visiting Australia's far north during spring & summer to breed. Remarkably, they will often use the exact same tree to nest in year after year. Post raising their young, the birds will depart our shores, returning to Papua New Guinea.
A slightly crazy looking bird which migrates to New Guinea in the dry season returning to North Queensland in August which means this one is newly arrived back with it's flock. They are gregarious birds even nesting together in colonies.

super long (36" inseam) straight leg cut. metallic. low waisted. elasiticzed waist. strechy light-weight material, giving you bursting tight, shiny plastic-like (kinda looks like wet dolphin skin) look. these are great substitute for leather pants for rockers. So I went outside today to get some pictures. It's a 7" x 5" Little Black Book. I got the Metallic Fuji Pearl paper and I'm very impressed. The color is almost 3 dimensional. The cover is textured but the pages are glossy. It's pretty much a grown up board book. It feels super durable. The big plus that the pages lay flat. No gutter. This is a Christmas gift for my mom. I think she's going to love it.
