With a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from York University, Alex started working for Canada's biggest concert promoter, Concert Productions International (CPI), in the 1970's. Alex soon became CPI's Production Manager, and was integral in producing shows in several Canadian cities with Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Genesis, Supertramp, KISS, Yes, The Bee Gees, Joe Cocker, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dionne Warwick, Sha Na Na, Jose Feliciano and many others.

Alex later joined Canadian power trio Triumph as their Tour Manager at the start of their meteoric rise to stardom. Several years, hundreds of shows and millions of miles later, Triumph asked Alex to manage their fledging recording studio Metalworks Studios. After two decades of guiding Metalworks' growth into the largest, most successful full-service recording facility in Canada, Alex moved on to create the first successful producer management company in Canada.

In addition to his work as an Admissions Counsellor and Instructor at Metalworks Institute, Alex recently acted a Tour and Production Manager for Triumph for their reunion performances at Sweden Rock and Rocklahoma, two of the largest classic rock festivals of 2008.

The Suwannee River Bridge is a steel truss bridge that opened in 1926. From what I can find out, there were one too many fatal accidents on the narrow bridge and it was finally replaced in 1986. Its future has been debated since at least 1992, but it still sits abandoned, eighteen years later. Steel truss bridges are somewhat rare in Florida, at least for vehicular traffic.

The bridge connects the ghost town of Ellaville in Madison County with Suwannee County.

Vel has spent the better part of the past two decades on the front lines of the Canadian Music Industry. He broke into the business with PolyGram Records (now Universal Music) but spent the majority of his career at Sony Music Canada.

At PolyGram, he learned the ropes of promotion and publicity where he served as the company's National Publicity Representative and eventually transitioned to the position of Promotion Representative in the company's Ontario branch. Upon moving to Sony Music, Vel was quickly promoted to the position of Vice-President National Promotion/Media Relations. While there, he played an active role in the career development of Canadian artists such as Our Lady Peace, Celine Dion, Finger Eleven, Amanda Marshall, Chantal Kreviazuk, and The Trews, among many others. Today, Vel has moved on to greener pastures and works as Vice-President Marketing & Communications at Green Living Enterprises. Scary setup for boring a hole. I turned the center section, which will hold bearings, then welded on a bracket for attaching it. The bottom of the bracket needs to be coplanar with the bore of the bearing, so I attached it to a 90 degree plate and rebored it.

These are nicely crafted pair, of all metal construction. Unfortunately, neither is signed by the artist.
