Got to update my cute widdle deep sea merman today after we finished up these pretty ear fins!
Don't worry, he's more scared of you than you are of him, right?
The fins have a ridiculous amount of options. 112 fin textures, multiple tones of tintable BOM bases, tintable glowing tips, a gradient tintable BOM layer, 3 hoop earrings on each ear, AND animated water caustics.
Included is a notecard with all the base skin textures and fin UV for your own modding needs.

Check out Howard Ryder's shot if you want to see a good shot of this place. I came home with el crappo due to a poor job of handling a lot of light. this is the best of the bunch, such a waste, could have been great, but I'm on my way back down there right now with Darling Tonia to see if I can top it. (this is where I usually say blow it up and look around, don't, not a lot of detail and too much noise.......) :-) Alternate title, learning the hard way.....
I promise that my feed will stop being all ADS and FLYERS real soon. But i do have something exciting to share for this lovely MerMay Memorial Weekend!

PANG is a 100% original custom mesh accessory by me. They come in 5 seperate colors or a fatpack option. Each single pack comes with an unscripted version to rezz out (4 Li) or wear as you like - and two others that have a left and right hold animation respectively.
---
PANG Poses are two bento merman poses I created to show off the trident. They will work with any trident or stick you want to hold. These only work with bento tails and will not work with human legs or older mermaid tails that use the 5J joints.
“Han” the Merman in Helsingør, North Zealand (a half-hour train ride north from Copenhagen). This shiny, reflective metal statue of a young man sits sideways on a rock looking out to sea.
The Merman Han (meaning “He”)'s reflective pose echoes the Little Mermaid’s statue in Copenhagen. Whilst he doesn’t wear any fins on his feet, he could easily be her little brother.
Reflection & Longing
Hans Christian Andersen’s original story, The Little Mermaid, is not as you know it from Disney movies. The story begins the same but takes a dark turn when the sea witch makes vastly more brutal demands, and the ending is far more sombre. Spoiler alert: the prince marries someone else and leaves our darling mermaid utterly heartbroken.
The statue of Han the Merman could embody the personal melancholy that Hans Christian Andersen expressed in his Little Mermaid story. Andersen wrote the fairytale in 1836 after suffering the deep heartache of unrequited love for his close friend, Edvard Collin. Collin did not reciprocate his feelings and married, leaving Andersen feeling devastated.
Raised in poverty, possibly struggling with dyslexia, and bullied as a student, Andersen had always felt like an outsider. The ache of longing to be part of something out of reach was a theme in Andersen’s life and was reflected in his writing, particularly in The Little Mermaid. She gave away her voice in desperation to be part of the other world, where the dancing, walking, capable people are.
Han the Merman already has a human form, yet he still seems to yearn for the open seas. Maybe he longs to return to a simpler, more spartan existence.
Whatever your interpretation, he is quite literally in a state of permanent reflection. Made of long lasting and eye-catchingly polished stainless steel, his glittering form reflects the sunlight and dazzles visitors on a clear day.
And it is said that if you stay with him long enough, you might glimpse him winking at you.
As Honey left the city of Saildor and made their way to a place the denizens of the magical city had mentioned in passing. The Isle of Aquarius. They said its waters had healing properties unlike any other realm in all the lands.
The nymph of course felt the draw to uncover what secrets the Isle held as they continued their search for a cure to combat the threat to their own home of The Faewylds. As Honey approached the Isle of Aquarius, and touched their feet to the waters the magic of the land made itself quite known to our adventurer.
Once again the lands of the faire knew just what was needed as Honey was changed from nymph to mermaid..merman…mer-enby? ‘Gender is weird’ thought Honey.
As our adventurer explored, they found themself in the depths of the ocean that surrounded the Isle, and chanced upon a dear friend. It was Eliza who the nymph had known for many years. Some how she had also found a portal to the fairelands and ended up here.
The two chatted for what must have been hours, as Honey explained their journey thus far, and what they were searching for. Eliza offered wisdom that only a merfolk of experience could. It filled Honey’s heart to spend time with such a good friend. Something..somethought stirred in the nymph’s mind.
Maybe they were getting closer to what they were looking for.

Still dripping with the life-giving waters of the sea, the stone and glass forged by the commanding currents of the merfolk are illuminated by the hypnotic lights of their Prana, or life-force. The bright, open structures that stood submerged for generations now magically float on top the waters surface, allowing the vibrant ocean life to merge with the air and allowing passage to the depths below for those who dare to explore.- Excerpt from Isle of Aquarius’s Story

Once the invitation had been extended, The Birdman climbed up onto the rock beside The Merman. The Merman pushed himself up and made some room for his new companion. Smiling shyly at each other they sat side by side, feet and fins in the water as they gazed across the cove as the sun began to set. It wasn't much longer and the moon, full and bright, began to rise in the twilight and take its place in the clear sky. It was a beautiful sight and so magical; as if anything could happen.
"So beautiful," The Merman heard The Birdman say softly. He glanced towards his new companion and felt heat rise to his cheeks as he saw those dark, gorgeous eyes on him; not the moon or the twinkling stars...but on him and him alone. The Birdman, still focused on the beautiful creature before him, felt movement at his hand and a warmth spread through him as he felt The Merman take his hand, intertwining their fingers. The Birdman glanced at their hands, squeezing gently to be careful of the webbing between his fingers, then gazed back into his eyes with a sweet smile before looking up at the moon.
A while later, the full moon was high in the sky and the stars twinkling beautifully above them. While The Birdman was gazing at the sky, he felt a press of lips upon his cheek and The Merman's voice say, "I'm glad you said hello." His gaze turned upon The Merman, feeling confident now. He reached over and brushed The Merman's bangs from his eyes as he said, "I am glad I did as well." Nibbling his lower lip, The Merman shifted slightly closer and The Birdman's arms slid around his waist and pulled him gently to sit in his lap.
The Merman licked his lips and reached up, taking The Birdman's fingers and intertwining them as he felt The Birdman's arm wrap around his shoulders. "You are a bold one,," he murmured softly. "The Bird who dared to love a fish." And he began to lean in, his eyes closing and lips parting only to be met with his feathered friend's, warmth and fulfilment filling them both so utterly and completely. And there under the full moon, they shared their first kiss and it was as magical as the night, itself.
It's said that in the pebble cove on the full moon, if you listen closely, you can hear the splashes and ripples of a fish playing and dancing at the water's surface. And then, you'll can see a single bird flying low over the cove, calling out softly as if singing to his love.
Fin.

Front and back views of two of the four fountain statues in the central garden between the twin buildings of the Natural History Museum and Fine Arts Museum in Vienna. Mythical beings hold a prime place in old statuary. At first glance they look quite similar, both depicting mermen (note the fish form legs and fins on the shoulder blades) rising from the waters to seduce pretty young human maidens by offering gifts from the sea.
But at a closer look one sees that one of the suitors is older, with a bearded face and slightly flaccid belly whereas the other is young, beardless and fit.
The older merman is offering a practical gift, a large fish. The younger brings pretty, but useless, baubles and trinkets.
The maiden being offered the fish by the older merman is resisting temptation and maintaining her modesty by staying covered with a cloth, whilst the object of the younger merman’s desire has dropped her cloth and all modesty while showing intense interest in his offering of seashell treasures.
These statues were erected in Freud’s time, I can only wonder what he would have said...
( i uploaded a very large version so a great deal of fine detail is visible to those interested in viewing large.)

Borealis is an applier HUD for Aii's Riptide tail. It features uniquely redrawn fin textures that compliment the icy, rainbow scales which adorn the tail. Custom materials mixed with the traditional riptide scales work to create something brand new for the mermaid or merman looking for bespoke tails this holiday.
Look out for the matching "Aurora" flexi fins, also for sale in Enchantment's "Snowflake" round.
Each HUD comes with alpha hiders to customize your look further. You can set fins to mask or blend to push the northern lights look or have it be more subtle.
Borealis is built on the Alienwaves. system so it is compatible with any tail that already has their scripts loaded in. The receiver script is also included in the box with instructions if this is your first applier purchase <3

The Bird Who Dared to Love a Fish: Part 2
After discovering the The Merman on the rock, The Birdman found himself unable to pull himself away. He was so fascinated by his beauty that it was love at first sight.
So as the sun made its journey across the great sky, he remained on the pebble beach by the rocks. The whole time, The Merman gave no indication that he'd noticed The Birdman yet he never left the rock. It was now sunset and The Birdman realized that if he didn't say SOMETHING then he'd likely lose this chance forever! He swallowed hard and set his feet in the water and began to slowly wade out there.
Hearing the gentle splashing sounds behind him, The Merman glanced over his shoulder and quirked his brow as he watched The Birdman wade out to him. Seeing the shy smile grace The Birdman's face caused him to soften his own features, a slight smile upon his own lips as he rolled over onto his belly and folded his arms, shell set before him. He didn't speak, waiting patiently as The Birdman stood before him.
"Good evening," The Birdman said with confidence though he felt nervous. "I wanted to come introduce myself and say hello." The Merman quirked his brow again, a small smirk perking his lips as he lifted his torso a little higher so he could see into his eyes a little better. "I was wondering when you were going to say hello," he said with a soft sigh, then broke into a gentle chuckle. "You've been watching me so intently all day. I was starting to wonder if maybe I should be the one to make the first move after all." A blush spread over The Birdman's face as his confidence was overtaken by shyness and asked, "Oh. So....you did notice me?" The Merman laughed softly and placed his chin in his hand as he gazed up at The Birdman. "Of course! How could I not notice your handsome physique and your gorgeous and powerful wings? Why else do you think I've been out here sunning myself all day, Silly?"
The Birdman ran his fingers through his hair and laughed softly at himself, The Merman grinning up at him and then nibbling his lower lip. "So now that we understand each other, would you like to join me on the rock and watch the moonrise together?" The Birdman's eyes lit up and he nodded. "I'd love to!"

"I CAN'T BELIEVE I LOST MY RING😭. MY BOYFRIEND GAVE IT TO ME!!!", the merman named Billy cried during the exclusive interview for us.
"But... You're a merman... You can breathe under water", our shocked reporter replied.
With astonishment, the fish-man returned to the the sea and never came back.
Did he found the ring? Did he found something better? Or maybe he found a witch that would give him half a brain, who knows. Stay tuned and stay at home.

In classical mythology Neptune ruled over the seas and its inhabitants. His son Triton was a merman. Neptune and Triton are portrayed with great vitality as they command the seas, which we are to be imagined around the base of the group. The composition may be based on Ovid's account of the Flood (Metamorphoses, Book 1, 330-42), in which Triton is ordered by Neptune to blow his conch-shell to summon the waters to retreat. However, it is also often associated with the Quos Ego ('Whom I'), Neptune's unfinished threat to the winds to cease stirring the seas, from Virgil's Aeneid (Book 1, 135).

The story of the tower might end with a storm, a failed dike, and a changing coastline, but for the Plompe toren that tells of a mermaid caught in a fishing net, and the curse her merman husband placed on the town.
The Netherlands has long relied on elaborate engineering to hold back the sea. This is especially true in Zeeland (Sealand), the collection of islands and peninsulas in the far west of the country. At the end of the 15th century the coast around the once-prosperous fishing village of Koudekerke looked much different, with the seashore nearly two miles (3 km) further out into the Oosterschelde (the estuary), than it does today.
Fierce storms plagued the coast, and the dike failed, swallowing up the town. Anything that was left was torn down, with the exception of the Plompe toren. Legend says, however, that the tower was left behind as a cautionary reminder.
The story varies, but basically goes like this: one day a fishing boat caught a beautiful mermaid in its net. The mermaid’s husband (a merman) tried frantically to get the fishermen to let her go, but to no avail. They brought her back to shore as a prize to show off, where she slowly withered and died, leaving her distraught merman (and sometimes also a mer-baby, depending on the narrator) behind. Seething with anger and vengeance, the merman placed a curse on the town, and it was that very night that the storm hit, taking the town out to sea.
The Plompe toren was spared, but only as a reminder of the destruction of this once-prosperous community, and an admonition to the fishermen in the Oosterschelde of the result of their cruelty to the beautiful sea-family.
