Papier maché bowl, 6.5" (16,5 cm) wide. Hommage to Esther Williams movie with the same name - which I haven't seen unfortunately - but I love the name. The paper used here is from an old norwegian childrens book.

this picture is a joke for my friend antonio iacobelli (Jacobson-2012), who had suggested me to turn myself into a mermaid. guess this is not exactly what he was thinking about.

To show Dixie ... I have a Lamp the same as the image she placed up . I used photoshop Quick selection tool to remove the background from this image ,then I placed it on a starry background bringing in a moon overlay to cover the frosted glass circle and give it a more realistic feel , next I placed a fog overlay and lastly a Orton filter to blur it and give it a soft feel .

I was viewing some negs, taken with the Hasselblad for an ad campaign.
Now there were quite a few similar poses, which is normal as you then pick out the best, and sadly the rest get discarded, I decided to have another 'look' at them when a strange thing happened.
The moment I saw this one, I immediately thought: "Mermaid".
Now you all know by now I don't 'manipulate' my images!
But hey, it was a challenge I just could NOT resist.
Also I did not have Photoshop for long, so, attractive to try something, LOL
