Sauvignon Blanc, prior to harvest, at Laurel Bank Vineyard, Tasmania, in Australia's most southerly wine-producing region.
Laurel Bank is a small family wine estate located at Granton in Tasmania’s pristine Derwent Valley. Since 1986, owners Laurel and Kerry Carland have responded to the viticultural challenges of their site’s cool maritime climate by creating distinctive Laurel Bank wines – reflecting 3.5ha of unique vineyard terroir and industry best practice in grape growing and winemaking.
Australia’s most authoritative wine guide – the 2019 Halliday Wine Companion – named Laurel Bank as one of the Australian wine industry’s Ten Dark Horses: essentially, a personal endorsement by renowned critic James Halliday that the small family vineyard is a winery to watch in coming years.
