Merlin landing

Nice to see a Juvenile Merlin land right next to me in decent light for a change

Not the greatest POV but this guy was just giving me the business when i was walking evidently too close to an unseen nest with my dog.

I think these guys are also gone from the area folks, have not seen one for A couple of months now, but the book says they are here all year, well when I'm out I will keep looking.

I think now that my friend Eric a great photographer and birder that this maybe a Merlin, thanks Eric.

One from the archives. This was the Merlin that was perched on the reserve sign at Staveley Nature Reserve in August - totally wild and free.

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fav my images.

Merlin is Gismo's brother, both are now 10 weeks old.

Unfortunately, her mom didn't get along with my older cats at all.

But my sister was so kind and took care of her and since I kept the little one, there were no problems with her cats either.

However, the previous person couldn't (or didn't want to) take his brother in after all, so I brought him in too. The joy of seeing the two sweet guys again brings tears to my eyes, making it impossible for me to regret my decision.

I saw this merlin in this tree as I was looking for the snowy owl. Such a great surprise and it stayed long enough for some nice photos.
