Close up of Mariner on board ship that fronts the International Maritime Organisation Head Office

Created by British sculptor Michael Sandle and unveiled on World Maritime Day, 2001

It's true, I'm officially a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer.

It reads:

MASTER OF STEAM OR MOTOR VESSEL OF NOT MORE THAN 100 GROSS REGISTERED TONS (DOMESTIC TONNAGE) UPON OCEANS; ALSO, THIRD MATE OF STEAM OR MOTOR VESSEL OF ANY GROSS TONS UPON OCEANS; ALSO, RADAR OBSERVER (UNLIMITED) EXPIRES JULY 2013.

Which basically means I can be a Third Mate on any sized vessel every built on any ocean. Or, I can be a Captain on any vessel equal to or less than 100 gross tons on any ocean. STOKED!!!!

Even the seagulls can't see where the hell they are going

Killing time in the skiff while my chariot arrives

Many words have crossed my mind while meeting another ship. I can assure you none of which have been "stealth"

I always wanted to stop and take pictures of silos while driving through Texas. I never imagined it would be while driving a 585 ft vessel up the Sabine.
