Mount Merapi Indonesia- June 2006 - View of an eruption from the air. Note the pyroclastic flow on the right side of the mountain. Two relief workers were caught in this flow and died about the time this picture was taken. We are at about 25,000 feet and 30+ miles north of the mountain I guess. Sorry for the lack of focus- the airplane window was scratched and dirty.
These survivors finally find some rest after harrowing 48 hours during which Mount Merapi unleashed the most powerful eruptions in a hundred years.

He runs a small shop at the foothill of Mount Merapi, an active volcano in between Central Java and Jogja.
Pretty interesting guy he was.
