These small things were melted during the Merapi eruption, October 2010. They are now kept in local Museum called "Sisa Hartaku" (ruins of my treasures).

The most active volcano in Indonesia erupted yesterday. About 25 persons died.

The closer we walked to the volcano, the more damage was visible. At the beginning, just vegetation was burned, later the roofs were torn down, then the whole houses and in the end, there was nothing, just ruins, ash and stink of what the guide told were rotting bodies of still not found people and animals. Ash layer is so thick that locals can't grow anything for 1-3 years

A new museum launched in 2009 by the Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources). The location is rather desolate, but a very resourceful place to visit. An impressive museum idea and very educational.
MAGELANG, 26/10 - AKTIVITAS WARGA MERAPI. Seorang perempuan tua lmelintasi jalan Desa Kalibening, Kecamatan Dukun, Kabupaten Magelang, Jawa Tengah, dengan menggendong kayu bakar untuk dijual di pasar setempat, Selasa (26/10) pagi. Status aktivitas vulkanik Merapi kini berada di level tertinggi "awas" yang biasanya sebagai tanda gunung itu akan memasuki fase erupsi, sementara sebagian besar warga setempat yang tinggal di desa-desa rawan bencana Merapi tetap beraktivitas secara normal meskipun mereka meningkatkan kewaspadaan.
