This is a digitally updated version of a 1997 graphic design class assignment from art college, which was to create a paper pop up card with the theme of mermaid.
This gimmicky one is the result of playing with different color mixing idea via Photoshop.

Galina is the 4th entry into the "Celestial Sisters" series I've created. Each sister represents a planet in the Solar system, with Galina representing Neptune. As such, her affinity is to the oceans and sea creatures.

Revenge of the 5th (and May the 4th) are both in Mermay, but does anyone ever doing anything with that? idk i tried LOL
John William Waterhouse's The Siren was the inspiration for this latest fine art recreation.
Since the original is a little vague about whether she had fins or feet, and I was set on doing Mermaids for MerMay, I did one of each, plus a bonus shot of that poor sailor's final view.
