A National Grid crew was working on new construction along Horizon Terrace - a Freightliner dump truck with trailer for the back hoe.
Traveling the back roads of Butte County during fall harvest sometimes offers up a real surprise in the midst of all that big equipment. I watched over the course of several days as the harvesters went full bore across from Llano Seco trying to harvest as much rice as they could before the forecasted rain. Most of the local rice farms are family owned. What a treat it was when I uploaded photos to see this young family getting some quality time in behind the wheel of the big harvester. The whole series can be viewed in sequence on black for optimal detail.
I'm cautiously hoping it might well be about time we can dig our sign and ladder out and put them to some use as we get back to some sort of wall painting normality. It's been fun painting my garden wall over lockdown and i'm sure there's probably more to go but it would be good to spread the love and get to know some new walls too. Here's to hoping...
Cheers

Rickshaws are commonly believed to have been invented in Japan in the 1860s, at the beginning of a rapid period of technical advancement. In the 19th century, rickshaw pulling became an inexpensive, popular mode of transportation across Asia.
Peasants who migrated to large Asian cities often worked first as a rickshaw runner. It was "the deadliest occupation in the East, [and] the most degrading for human beings to pursue."
The rickshaw's popularity in Japan declined by the 1930s with the advent of automated forms of transportation, like automobiles and trains. In China, the rickshaw's popularity began to decline in the 1920s. In Singapore, the rickshaw's popularity increased into the 20th century. There were approximately 50,000 rickshaws in 1920 and that number doubled by 1930.
Around 1880, rickshaws appeared in India, first in Simla. At the turn of the century it was introduced in Kolkata (Calcutta), India and in 1914 was a conveyance for hire. Kolkata is the city of life, love and humanity – hand driven rickshaws are really tragedies. It reminds us of Ray’s last film ‘Agantuk’ (stranger) – “After 36 years of world tour, coming to Calcutta, I find my city is standing in the same position, man is pulling rickshaw…”
With one of the cheapest data in the world, it is not surprising to see everyone glued to their phone.
And somebody from the Council had dropped a note through the door saying that work was going to be starting this morning and would everybody move their cars, etc. And it had started. But not everybody had moved their cars. Probably because the note arrived this evening. This would explain the men at work on a mobile... see photo from this morning. They were probably a bit stressed, on account of the Council forgetting to mention the moving cars bit earlier.

Notice how these guys compensate their heights to meet the desired level and avoid drooping the tip of the Main rotor Blade ..
"Our Sikorsky Helicopters undergo various inspection and maintenance works to keep them perfectly operational. One at 25 hours flying time, another at 50 hours flying time, and 100 hours Flying time. Added to that is the quarterly and Annual Inspection in order to replace Time Change Items (TCI)"
In order to mount the main rotor blade, the support should be at the same level with the main rotor hub.
