Shot in August 1969 with a Pentax S1a on a trip to Zanzibar while working in Tanzania. Forgotten photos that bring back pleasant memories. Scanned on a Nikon Coolscan 8000 with small Photoshop "fixes."

I lacked inspiration for this list item but saw these men at work on a local roof yesterday. Not the best of photos but it's another one ticked off.

In 1955, the specialized machines were scarce. Here, the old road is removed with a long crowbar, wielded by five men!

Men at Work in Stockbridge, Edinburgh

buried alive. . . .

well we survived our little talk at the Irish Photographic Federation's National Shields and my Face Down Tuesday shot's went down a storm. all hail the might Face Down Tuesday now let all get on our bellies and give thanks :~)

and i've got to say a big thank you to Barry and Cathal for being such good sports, you guys rock :~)

This is the second in a series of Men at Work. Those geometric lines are captivating to me and although this papercut is so time consuming----I still have to find the time to do it. I hope you like it.

No Group Banners, thanks.

Well he might not be.

I was on my way to try and catch a fabulous dawn (it didn't happen) for my Secret South London series when crossing a rail line I came as close to manly industry as I'm ever likely to. A massive signal gantry was going to be lowered on to a low loader train and these men where doing some sort of preparation work to the rails.

The Hydro workers are replacing a pole. I must agree with Cindy below, the poles do look like they aren't in great shape!

inspired by the works of Lewis H. Hine, dedicated to all those people who do their job with pride, dignity, and skill. They are in control of the giant machines they use or the colors they wear, at home in space, not dwarfed by their constructions.

Sí, las vacaciones se han acabado, ahora toca trabajar duro para ganarse las siguientes... 💪

The Paving Job

I wouldn't want this job, it's really hot doing that!

I was not alone this time at Osmania Landscape Garden. Two Flickr buddies came along with me, Prashanth(PNike) and Swath Ghosh. Though this pic is not from the garden, I enjoyed the trip along with them to Dhobi Ghat and hope to meet them again for going on subsequent photo shoots.

If you believe in accidents, then this shot was just that. I came upon this incident as I was looking to capture an empty alley. But fate or universal timing I guess wanted me to have this image instead.
