“Disciple of Magnetic Ninjutsu”
Unknown to the Maverick Hunters, the former hunter turned brainwashed assassin Magna Centipede had an apprentice, Magnet Treehopper whom he trained prior to his death. Having trained on his own for years, Treehopper is now ready to prove himself by destroying the Maverick Hunters and avenge his master’s death. He has taken refuge in a gravitational maze facility in a rainforest.
The weapon you obtain after defeating Magnet Treehopper is Bounce Magnet. It fires a magnetic orb that bounces across the area, pulling in debris after each bounce, creating a large ball of debris for more damage. It can also pull in certain enemies as well. The charged version generates a magnetic barrier that pulls in enemies and destroys them while protecting the user.
Designer notes:
My Mega Man X9 boss concepts needed an insect-based one. I came across pictures of a Brazilian Treehopper whom this character is based off to. It looked cool and freaky (especially with those “orbs” and “tail”) that I thought that’d make a good Mega Man X boss. And for those wondering, those wings are transparent.

A huuuuge stack of comics, there must be at least 50 there.
At the last sale I dropped by, an unadvertised one I swung by just for the heck of it, I saw a table of SNES, PS2 and Xbox games and comics. He was asking $1 a game and $0.50 per comic, so I CIF'ed $20 for the entire lot of comics plus the non-sports SNES games. It was weird that he let them go for so cheap, considering that he was telling me how he tracked Chronotrigger down on eBay. But, yes, this was awesome. They're primarily Marvel/DC titles and all in great condition.
Plus, I just added quite a few rare games to my collection. =)

Add another one to my Fire Emblem articulated figure collection!
The hunt for Fire Emblem stuff is challenging, in general, with aftermarket prices being generally stupid high. Of course, that only applies for the Fire Emblem merch made for games in the 3DS era, as I've seen some merch for older games (poor, poor Nendo Marth) go for dirt cheap prices.
Elise here, however, isn't one of those pieces. Apparently she goes for fairly high prices, but I was fortunate enough to find one for MSRP.
For those who are unfamiliar with the character, Elise is the bratty youngest sister from the Nohr campaign of Fire Emblem: Fates. She starts off as a Troubadour, which IIRC is a mounted support unit capable of healing.
I'm guessing they (Good Smile Company) decided to make Elise into a Nendoroid because she one of what, at least a dozen characters in the toy line that rides a horse of some sort? Considering how easy it is to repurpose designs for the line, this shouldn't be that shocking of a revelation. Kind of like how now that they've made a Robobattle suit for Kirby (coming soon!), they're now gone ahead and offered the Rabbit Suit from Mega Man X on preorder.
Of course, Good Smile added some good spit polish to make Elise her own release rather than a clone of Character X.
Like other DX sets (though she's not labelled as such) Elise comes with the character figure and her mount. Her legs are articulated to allow for posing and mounting of the horse, but the arms are the standard rotating joints that piss me off to no end because I have man hands.
Elise comes with a multitude of hands, a scepter with two different toppers, a total of three expression including a "holding my breath till I die" look, which should be standard in all Nendoroid sets, and of course a fancy pants base/stand contraption to hold it all together.
The horse has some points of articulation - nothing fancy but enough to give it some sense of life. Same can be said for all the other mounts in the Nendoroid lineup.
As mentioned, Nendoroid tend to fall apart easily on my watch, so I don't get too creative when displaying/photographing. I do think the Nendoroid style works for Elise, being a young'in and a brat at that. Quality of the sculpting, finish, and painting are of a good quality and do not fail to meet the high expectations I have of a GSC product.
That's pretty much it for this figure. It's pretty much a "love it or hate it" scenario, especially if you actually decide to buy it for aftermarket prices because you are a hardcore FE collector. My thoughts remain the same - if the price is right, it makes a nice accent piece to your collection (or in this case, is the only figure you'll get of this character), but overall, hardcore Nendoroid collecting is not for me.
“Dancing Wind Warrior”
Whirlwind Halcyon once served the Maverick Hunters under the 0 Special Unit and was well known for her spear weapon fighting style and wind manipulation abilities. Now corrupted, she has taken over an island radar outpost out in the sea, turning it into a fighting arena. She continues to hone her skills while waiting for a worthy opponent to challenge her on top of the tower.
The weapon you obtain after defeating Whirlwind Halcyon is Dancing Vortex. It fires a slow moving wind vortex that sucks in enemy shots while damaging enemies. The charged version unleashes a vertical tornado that sucks in nearby enemies while allowing the user to jump high if in the tornado.
Designer notes:
Another boss concept that is one of my favourites, a lot of thought was put into designing Whirlwind Halcyon. She is based off a Halcyon bird (or kingfisher birds as they’re sometimes called). There were Greek legends involving the Halcyon birds which were said to have the power to calm winds on the sea, so I used them for reference when coming up with her design as well as her attacks. I added in a little Greek warrior touch to her as well.

30 years ago, on December 17 1993, Capcom released Mega Man X for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Mega Man X introduced players to the world of 21XX, a century after the original Mega Man series made popular by the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) where X, the world's first independently-thinking robot and his mentor Zero, must battle against the rebellion led by the evil Sigma and eight maverick bosses.
In this submission, X and Zero are immortalized as LEGO action figures in 1:12 scale with authentic articulated joints and many fun accessories from the game series. X has his X-Buster with normal and charged shot effects, and all of his armor upgrades (head, body, arm, and foot) with the super charge shot effect, as well as four changeable facial expressions (normal, angry, shouting, and smiling) for normal X and for his upgraded helmet. Zero has his Z-Buster with the same shot effects as X, and parts to swap his armor to the lightsaber-wielding Zero in Mega Man X2 and onward with his X3 Z-Buster and Z-Saber, as well as four changeable facial expressions (same as X). Both X and Zero also have posing stands and plaques with famous in-game quotes on them, plus a plate with a Heart Tank, Sub Tank, and 1-Up. There's even a Dr. Light Capsule for X to stand in!
The figures take inspiration from Japanese model kit figures of X and Zero, and the armor-swapping ability works in similar fashion to the Bandai Mega Armor kits in the mid-1990s. But being LEGO, you can build any armor upgrades or weapons you can imagine to power-up X and Zero in your own creative style!
This may be my first LEGO Ideas submission, but I hope with enough support it gets some nice traction, so be sure to share it with friends, family, and other diehard fans of Mega Man and gaming!

“Metal Armoured Beast”
Impact Ram was once a member of the Maverick Hunters before he was expelled due of his reckless behaviour and use of force. He now joins the maverick rebellion and has taken control of a giant tank production factory on a mobile tank. With his impenetrable horns and armoured body, he is almost unstoppable even once he picks up speed.
The weapon you obtain after defeating Impact Ram is the Horn Bullet which fires a metal horn-shaped bullet that damages enemies and deflects shots in its path. The charged version allows you to perform a devastating air or ground dash, damaging any enemies and deflecting shots in your path while destroying certain blocks as well.
Designer notes:
When designing Impact Ram, there are three things that had to be implemented. One was that he had to be big, give him armour and make his horns as big as possible. Other design features were the boosters on his back and legs to help him move, and the ram horn textures on parts of his body. The scars on the metal parts of his body are meant to make him more intimidating. He is based off a ram, which is a male sheep.

“Volcanic Fire Fiend”
Scorch Salamander was originally a sabotage agent for the Maverick Hunters until a mission went horribly wrong, and was presumed dead by his fellow hunters. He somehow survived with a new body designed to survive extreme hot temperatures and even molten lava which he intends to take a splash in. Vowing revenge on his fellow hunters, he now joins the rebellion and guards a forbidden weapons facility located near a volcano.
The weapon you obtain after defeating Scorch Salamander is Magma Bomb. It fires a sticky bomb resembling molten rock that explodes into three fireballs. The charged version shoots a bomb into the air that explodes, raining fireballs in the process.
Designer notes:
This character was easy as he is based off a fire salamander. Since there is a similar character in Mega Man Zero 3 (who is based off a bearded lizard by the way), a lot of effort was made to make him different. The stripes on his body are suppose to resemble molten lava.

Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto and my love for rays inspired me to draw my 3rd favourite boss from Mega Man X4.
